Scott doesn't need to be on the team. That's just bad - no idea where his pitches will go. At least the stuff looks good. Career 5.5 BB/9 isn't promising though, nor is age 31.

If results hold, we will have ascended from 5th to T-4th in the East. Yanks down 4-2 at Colorado, bottom 6. Even crazier is that the Orioles are now only 1.5 games behind the Rays

lineup perspectives.
The First 6 batters for the Sox have OPS of .800 +. Only two Cubbies have that.
The last two batters for the Sox have OPS less than Casas. Six Cubbies have that.
Thoughts...
Chang's HR was important in that power usually goes down significantly after a hamate injury.
Maybe it's just a memory issue but Yoshida seems to do significantly better when there aren't runners on base.
How 'bout dem Sox..

The Yankees losing a Carlos Rodon - Austin Gomber matchup is a tasty way to start the second half.

Great game. The Sox literally clobbered the Cubs. 6 home runs with the wind blowing out at Wrigley. Amazing the Cubs pitching has pitched well this year. Looks like a tough place to pitch.
Have a feeling the Turner move to 2b probably wont help a struggling defense and could perhaps wear down the 38 year old.
If somehow Turner can play a palatable 2b it does allow them to maximize their offense. Particularly when Story comes back.
I will say, though, if the Sox are going for it, I'm against dealing Duvall away.
Injuries happen. If say Devers or Casas got hurt then Turner simply plays 3b or 1b, Masataka DHes, and Duvall is on LF with Duran and Verdugo. If one of the outfielders go down you have Duvall to insert. Sane thing if Turner went down.
I know they have Refsnyder, but he's better as a platoon guy that gets Casas out of the lineup against a lefty or a PH against lefties.
Guys get hurt. I'd hate to see Duvall get traded and then somebody goes down.
I think they're in good shape to go with what they have positionally. Quality depth is good.

Scott doesn't need to be on the team. That's just bad - no idea where his pitches will go. Not that it means he would’ve looked like Greg Maddux otherwise, but he was pitching in the middle of a thunderstorm. I can forgive a guy for not having his best command when it’s raining sideways.

And tornado warning. Second time in 24 hours Chicago has been in one of those. Both airports had a ground stop again tonight while the game was on (because of the wind and possible tornado

I'm pretty sure Chang is the everyday SS until Story arrives.

Turner at 2B and Reyes getting reps in CF....A glimpse of life without Kiké ??

Not sure why Reyes is getting reps in center field, unless a deal is coming. We need his help in the middle infield, not center.
