Looks like Dan Altavilla is finally making a rehab appearance today.

Looks like Dan Altavilla is finally making a rehab appearance today. Works his way through a scoreless first with one hit. Angel Pierre has been hitting the ball better this month. Has four doubles and a triple through 5 and a half July games.

Yuten is 4th, and Garcia 7th in wRC+ among 18 and under players in the FCL.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have come over and done well necessarily, but Yoeilin Cespedes cooling down a bit in the DSL does kinda show the importance of patience on some of these things.

Cespedes doubles again. Number 9 on the year. Also gotten on with a walk.

Valdez hurt his hamstring running to first on what would have been a double. Didn't look severe.

Roman Anthony leadoff HR. I believe that's the fifth time he's done that in 18 Greenville games.
No video feed for this game but another oppo shot.

He doesn't need to be a "franchise savior" and allows him to develop at his own pace.

Is it worrying that Mayer has been K'ing with swinging strikes on a lot of his at bats recently? Obviously you can't tell from the Gameday feed but I'm assuming they're breaking balls that he has been said to struggle with right?

If anything, we should all learn from that.

Things to not do - hang a curveball to Blaze, throw a ball in the strike zone to Cedanne, play Kiké at short. They'll make you pay.

If the Blazer mashes at AA, he has to be taken more seriously as a prospect. That's the level where a lot of guys first fail.
Having said that, I'm not sure where he'll fit in. Casas is going to the 1B for the foreseeable future. Using Blazer as a DH (assuming he brings an impact bat to The Show) would mean Yoshi has to stay in LF and that's not a great option IMO.
These things tend to sort themselves out, I guess.

Totally agree, but there’s something appealing about having a good awful defensive LF that can mash and hide them by the monster so we get two DHs lol
