Romero’s K rate is bad and he’s not walking in less than 100 PAs in Salem, but just on eye test I don’t think that league is going to challenge him much.

How high does Bobby Dalbec's OPS need to get at AAA, to go along with his 35% strikeout rate, before I get interested again?
The number is bigger than 1072, apparently.

I should be it for the Wicker Man AA debut, he was awesome: 6 IP, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 9 Ks

A walk, hbp and a hit loaded the bases with one out (a K). Trouble with control, a couple of "breaking balls that did not break." K'ed the next two guys. Looked strong.

Trouble with control, a couple of "breaking balls that did not break." K'ed the next two guys. Looked strong. And after that, nothing. Not surprising that his first inning at a new, important level would be a little rocky, and his history suggests that more control issues could have been expected as his outing went along. But they didn't - an encouraging first sign. On the other hand, RA had his first really rocky day in Greenville. Now let's see what happens from here. He's been on a probably unsustainable helium ride.

Pete Abraham is downright sobbing! Why’s that? He said something to the effect of the Sox having no good young pitching on the horizon, don’t remember the exact quote

If an MLB team thought Dalbec was worth giving a shot, he'd be gone.
His AAA in-zone whiff rate is among the worst in the system and gives no comfort that his org-worst rate in MLB will go down. When he hits the ball, it goes, but the 34% AAA K rate is no indication anything has changed, unfortunately.

Based on his Red Sox perspectives, he'd be pissed at his own daughter's wedding because she's happy and it wasn't because of him. I think he's still a Yankees writer at heart.
