Still holding em hitless through 4. 7K’s, 2BB. ꓘKꓘꓘKKK 5 innings 9 Ks no hits. Hard for Story to get chances but he did go in the hole for one throw. Not on the grass, still on the dirt, but he made a fairly strong accurate throw, but he dd not gun it and it had some height rathe than being a laser.

The beauty of Wikelman's start in AA (SSS of course) is that he seems to have corralled his control problems. Maybe someone on the Portland coaching staff told him to trust his stuff and challenge in the zone? Or were his control problems in the lower minors more complex than that?
I'm surprised that people on this board are so unconcerned about flaunting the no-hitter jinx.
EDIT: And just as I say this, he walks a couple in the 6th.

10 K’s now but getting real wild. Back to back walks here as he approaches 90 pitches.

He'd probably need 150 pitches to complete the no hitter. That's why there isnt much concern, lol. The only concern would be if they let him pursue the no-no but that's not going to happen

Wilkelman, Perales, Bastardo, Monegro… and I’m a believer in ERC The pitching depth in the lower minors is looking better and better every day.

Happened to watch the game on Milb.tv and what a game. Wikelman looked fantastic after he walked the first two batters. He looks really confident on the mound. Guerrero was wild, but closed it in the 9th.
Sox system really is a lot of fun to tune into this year.

Wilkelman has to rein in the walks but he has an upside that Drohan doesn’t seem to quite have IMO

I was at the WooSox game at SWB today. Van Belle was giving up rockets - Everson Pereira's second HR was crushed near the batter's eye to dead center. Rafaela got the day off, much to my dismay. Wilyer Abreu showed off serious power - hit an opposite-field drive to the wall that I don't think he even barreled up and it almost got out.

Maybe the don't mention the no-hitter approach is the jinx. Think about it, most don't get talked about, and most never happen! Correlation is Causation.
