I've warmed up to the notion of Dalbec being the 14th man. Turner is hurting badly, no need for him to play in the field down the stretch.

Hamilton and Walter or substitute another pitcher. If I never see Hamilton or Valdez in the field again that would be great. Hamiltons baserunning on the other hand can change a game. Walter or whatever pitcher they think can help because you always need more pitching. As much as I would like to bring Rafaela up I would only do that if he is going to be getting at bats.

Tomorrow is Sept 1 - wow.
My preference - Jacques and Llovera go back to Woo - bring back Walter and Murphy and give them innings. When Bernardino comes off the COVID list - we are essentially out of it shut down a struggling pitcher and keep Bernardino - or can we have 14 pitchers in Sept?
For the bats - keep Rafaela, and Abreau returns - send down Hamilton, bring back Dalbec

Sure but I'd like the 28th player to be able to hit the ball as well. While the pinch runner role would be great for a team looking at a playoff spot, this team has a lot of issues. Getting a pinch runner on the team for a team that doesn't score runs lately or win makes no sense. Bring Dalbec back up.

This could be heavily influenced by whatever happens today. Depending on if ownership wants to spend more money on this team. If they pass on claiming any of these guys then you really have to question what the goal was for this team was at the deadline. Obviously everyone understands that deals can be hard and none of these guys that were moved to the Angels really worked out. But that being said, Matt Moore could help this team right now. Hell claim him and Lopez too. This teams entire bullpen is cooked. You can't sit here and tell me that its more valuable to get Mauricio Llovera on this team than making a claim on one of these guys. Wink is tired, Whitlock is tired, Schreiber looks gassed. Pivetta looks broken etc...
I understand they're 17th in the waiver rankings but if they don't even try then what the hell...
Not even getting into Giolito and the fact that if they end up with him, they can send Houck or Crawford to the pen.

San Diego, Cincinnati, Miami, and Minnesota all have priority over the Red Sox, so I think it's pretty unlikely we'll get any of the pitchers.

I can't see them claiming anyone since they're even further out then they were at the deadline. Maybe they'd do it just to screw with the Dodgers. But that would be interesting. I would be surprised if Clevenger was claimed due to how his contract is worked.

When I posted that I expected that they were not going to actually crap the bed and still be in contention. Now I want Walter and Rafella along with Abreu. I want Rafella to play center everyday to see if he is a viable option for next year in a starting role.

Well they were buyers at the deadline, too, and having nothing to lose, so I don't see why they wouldn't claim those guys.
