Mike, Chris, Ian, James, Jim, Mike, Will, mods and other contributors -
Congratulations on SP's 20th anniversary. It is a significant accomplishment to have survived and thrived for so long in an environment where media, including sports media, seems to be changing constantly. My fondest recollections from the early days included family trips to Red Sox affiliates in Wilmington DE, Trenton NJ, Sarasota and Ft. Myers FL, Lowell MA, Pawtucket RI and Portland ME as well as other stadia where Red Sox affiliates were playing to see minor leaguers play, to meet other folks with the same interests and to share those experiences on SP. It also helped that SP's development coincided with Boston's championships in 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018, which was exciting both for my Red Sox fandom but also my Red Sox prospect fandom since a number of prospects contributed to that success. SP filled, and continues to fill, an important niche in our everlasting love for the Red Sox. Here's hoping that SP will continue to survive and thrive for the next 20 years. Best to all.

When I first got on this site, I thought every team had one like this. Boy was I wrong. So, I feel very lucky, it’s so unique. Thanks to everyone writing here. It’s been a pure pleasure.

As others have said, congrats and many thanks to all the folks who have made SoxProspects what it is.
I wish I could remember when I first discovered SoxProspects but I no longer have sufficient functioning neurons for that task. A good portion of those hours though were spent while I was at work (my boss never caught me!). I retired 11 and a half years ago and was addicted to SoxProspects long before that.
I've always been much more of a reader than a poster for the simple reason that my baseball expertise is <1% of the average poster on this site, not to mention the expertise of Mike, Chris and the other staff members and contributors who make SP the amazing place it is. Due to my time spent here I can sometimes retain just enough to convince friends (and even my kids! (and now even my grandkids!!)) that I know something.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

I can't put into words how awesome this site is, or how important it has been to me in two separate dimensions: the scouting reports / rankings, and the forum. The quality of discussion has been outstanding.
I first became smitten with Red Sox prospects when I picked up the 1962 Red Sox Yearbook, when I was 8. In the back of the book there were all these photos and write-ups of guys I had never heard of, but they were all supposed to be great! Eventually. It's so alluring, to dream on these guys ... there's nothing like it in any other sport.
I should be able to find my copy (and the Yearbooks for the rest of the 60's) and maybe at some point I'll collect some juicy quotes from the profiles and share them. Look for that for the 25th anniversary.
Is there a record of when folks signed up? I know I was on a panel discussion of some sort with Mike after the 2006 season (and that I told him that he has Jed Lowrie way too low, after his injury-ruined second season). And I may have been a member at that point, but not posting much if at all. I do know that I quit shadow-of-its-former-self SoSH and moved here, and have never looked back. One of my better lifetime decisions!

Congratulations to Mike, Hatfield, and to all the staff through the years that worked to make this place the thing it is today.
I'm extremely gratified to have been a small part of it.
I wish they'd bring back Futures At Fenway.

I think growing up a baseball fan. I love milestones. Baseball is all about milestones and stats. People reaching them or teams and as a fan seeing the various ones. So congratulations SOXPROSPECTS. This is finding a treasure to me over the years. All my baseball is covered here. I 'm so lucky to be a Red Sox fan and get to enjoy this site. I'm lucky to be a part a small part of being here.

Finished Part 1 of the podcast... I can't believe you think your listeners won't remember Bubba Bell. My own Bubba Bell story is one he told himself, and I can't do it justice, but listening to him tell it (to teammates on the back fields) was hilarious. He was playing in the Venezuelan Winter League, and apparently the stadium lighting was really tough. He lost a fly ball in the lights... and it hit him in the throat, badly enough that he had to see a doctor to see if he'd badly damaged his larynx. Despite clearly being injured he was apparently vehemently booed off the field (none of that "we're glad you're alive!" that players usually get). When it was clear after the game that he was OK to resume playing, the manager told him he'd have to sit for a few home games to spare him from the fans' wrath--he said he'd get him back on the field as soon as they went on the road and that it would be OK after that. He was a very entertaining storyteller, which is maybe not unrelated to the situation described on the podcast. Also grateful for the kind words, and amused by the reference to Jonathan Singer's approach to photos... listening the morning after I was once again facing my own discomfort with walking up to people to ask them to pose for photos! Give me a little distance and a zoom lens, please!
