The Cespedes talk on the podcast is really really exciting. Sounds like he’ll be moving up in the rankings and has elite bat speed. Very encouraging podcast. The system seems loaded. Sounds like the team drafted well under Bloom.

Sounds like the team drafted well under Bloom. It would be interesting to hear from someone who's been around in the scouting department for awhile on why they think they've been so successful (compared to previously) in drafting these last years. You could argue the good run started late in Dombrowski's term. Things like intentional philosophy changes or investing in more and better scouts or things like that.

On the Cespedes BP, how much can you tell? Seems that pitch recognition is far more important than the hit sound.

Clegg got a good radio voice Should get him on more. He'll likely have some good mid season updates on the Salem/Greenville guys

I like it when the podcast description says things like "Players discussed include Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, Yoeilin Cespedes, Richard Fitts, Franklin Arias, Blake Wehunt and more!" Both makes me want to listen, and also helps when they say a guy's name once and then talk about him for five minutes, saying "he" and "his" and never saying his name again. FYI, this is pretty much an issue for any podcast. As a listener I have the same frustration sometimes, but note that it's very hard to get into the habit of saying a guy's name over and over again. The guys had no trouble on this one saying Cespedes Cespedes Cespedes and Bleis Bleis Bleis.

That would be helpful or perhaps they could time stamp-hyper link each segment as some podcasts and YouTube posts do so it would be possible to go exactly to a segment. Easy for me to say. Doing that might be a real pain.

Great pods guys, thanks for them! I'll admit to using the 15 seconds back button a couple times to remember which guy you were talking about, but I think it's unavoidable if you want to hit on as many guys as you do, which I love. (Not as much as you love Cespedes and Bleis if last pod is any indication, but I hope you're right on those two!)
One small question I didn't want to email - idk if he has physical development left but it sounds like Yoenis Cespedes is quite jacked for a 17 year old, and he also generated insane EV's for a kid. Pontes talked about the age curve on EV's, but do you think that's fairly linear and even a 17 year old who looks like he has hit the weights and puts up MLB level EV's will add a solid amount of functional strength, or could he be capped in that area? Either way the data and scouts are great, it was great to hear the enthusiasm.

Not even 10 mins in to the podcast and already loving the part about Teel putting up some nice EVs that the team saw. If that is sustainable for Teel that bat becomes even more interesting especially for a C since I recall some questions about middling EVs from Teel last year.

Hightlight. Chris Hatfield: If Ian and Chris Clegg are the dynamic duo what are we? Ian Cundall: An old married couple.

The mention of Campbell on the most recent pod plus his most recent shoutout in the Baseball America article. Tantalizing!
