Terry Ryan is at Hadlock Field today. I realize that New Britain is the Minnesota affiliate but it still makes me go hmmmmm even with Haeger starting today.

Do they have a catcher we could use? they have Mauer and Doumit on the major league roster. Mauer would probably be a significant upgrade. Personally wouldn't be crazy about Doumit, if we wanted to replace Salt that badly and he was the best we could get we might as well give Lavarnway a shot and save our prospects. EDIT: and ya, what chris said, probably not here about a trade anyway.

As the Phillies season goes south,Cliff Lee is looking more attractive. I also keep thinking of Cliff Lee as the season moves on. The Phillies ARE headed for a "sell off", they just don't know it yet. Lee is the one difference maker that interests me for the Sox. Now before you all go crazy on me.....by June 1 the Phils maybe really looking hard to move several players. They are a poor team with really little chance of catching the Nats or Braves. I like Ortiz a lot for behind the plate. Few teams can take on this kind of salary. The Red Sox can. This may look unequal to some, but I'd move Felix Doubront for Lee in a NY minute if they would pick up some of the salary. $82 million is tough to swallow even for a pitcher like Cliff Lee.

I wonder if they'd take Brian Johnson for Paps?

Do they have a catcher we could use? Phils have a good, high OBP catcher, though he's serving his pep-pill suspension now

They hit for Bradley Jr. last night, and today he did not play. Still having some shoulder issues? Lavarnway has picked it up a in the last 10 games, with two home runs ,three doubles, and hitting over 330. Then again, he is becoming a vet at AAA. Getting time to sink or swim at the majors?

Lavarnway has reached the point that many red sox prospects do where he isn't guaranteed to excel in the majors so they don't want to give him the opportunity, so he just sits in Pawtucket causing other teams to think he must not be any good if we haven't called him up yet so they don't want to trade for him. So he will eventually somehow find himself as an above average starter on the Oakland A's.

RE: JBJ, he reportedly has a cold.
RE: Iggy, DiSarcina says his removal from the game was a "manager's decision," per Brian MacPherson. Unsure what that means.

Unsure what that means.May be he wasn't running hard on a grounder? Just speculating here. Considering that his last at-bat was a ground ball to the first baseman, I sure hope that's not the reason. Would be pretty silly if so. The "running hard on a ground ball" thing is so overblown.

Sean Coyle hit another solo shot. He hit 8 HRs this season, all of which are solo shot. Very weird.

Love the pop, but Coyle is sure striking out a lot. 16 in his last 10.

I'd even throw in JD Drew and Daisuke Matsuzaka if they pick up the salary. RAJ isn't gonna throw Lee away for free any more than Mike Gillis did with Luongo.

Not sure why this happened, despite being at the game, but as someone who photographs a lot of at-bats, I can say that Iggy runs like hell if he gets the bat on the ball.

I want to continue to build for the future not go postal for 'a shot'.
