Weissert has to be very difficult to hit against - all his stuff moves. And my impression from having watched Campbell with Seattle last year hasn't changed. Very good acquisition.

The Pirates starter was also pretty impressive. Great mound presence for a guy that's never pitched in the majors.
Abreu and Reyes need to get off the schneid.

Pivetta last night: 6 innings, 3 runs (2 earned), 9 K, 1 BB against the Twins full real lineup. He threw 87 pitches, 68% of them for strikes. The main hiccup was in the 4th, where after walking Christian Vazquez with bases empty and two outs, he gave up a homer to Wallner on a 3-2 count. Otherwise, looking ready to go.

He looks filthy with the addition of the sweeper. Extend him!

Nice line drive double play by Casas. To my eye he's looked better defensively this spring, quicker and more athletic.

Casas with a nice stab and flip to end an inning in which Kutter labored a bit. Good defense is contagious, y’all. Let’s go!

Casas now up with his second chance against Fried with the bases loaded and knocks a seeing-eye grounder back up the middle for an 2-run single. Really mature approach. Then Ceddanne grounds the first pitch for an inning-ending double play. Silver linings here in the late days of spring training.

Kutter has nothing today, he's hanging everything.

Sure hope what we’re seeing here today says more about the ridiculous Braves line-up than it does about Kutter Crawford.

Jansen looked sharp enough.

My takeaways...
Cutter Krawford wasn't commanding his secondaries but found a way to, as the saying goes, give the team a chance to tie.
I'm not yet in season form, staying awake through consecutive day games is unlikely but, good to see Jansen and Martin on schedule for season start.
In spite of Masa's range and Duran's arm, that's probably still an above average outfield defense.
Offence has a c defense has an s even though they are both fences.
Good to see Casas' RBI single against a solid lefty. His two highlight plays were excellent but I thought the ground out was better.
Dalbec appears to be edging out Cron which might effect a Valdez/Reyes decision.
Story will be the team WAR leader.

Nothing to do with today's game itself, but the Nesn broadcast in general.. which is "tearing".. like jumping a very little and has been off and on all ST. The MLB game is not today if anyone else has noticed.

The broadcast and Savant mislabeled this as a sweeper.

Bernardino optioned to AAA. Definitely not the move I thought we'd see.
EDIT: Gotta assume Weissert gets the last bullpen spot

Jesus - did someone make a mistake?

I’ve seen enough, Dave Bush was the problem 😊
In all seriousness, I’ve been on the Whitlock reliever train because of his lack of breaking ball. Now he’s spinning the ball like Bronson Arroyo with different shapes. Also change has looked more consistent so far.
If we see breakouts this year, I don’t know if we blame Bush, credit Breslow/Bailey or a little bit of both. It would certainly bolster Bailey’s reputation as a coach

What did Bernardino do to deserve to be demoted? Have options Cotillo had noted this afternoon Luetge didn’t use an opt-out from his minor league deal - so it doesn’t seem like they had to demote BB for depth reasons if they wanted to keep both?
