Can someone please remind me: Who will be NESN’s primary color guy this season? Some combination of Youk, Merloni, and Middlebrooks? Thank you.

Jordan with a nice RBI single to the outfield. Sounded like solid contact.

I hope someday I will be able to say proudly I watched Roman Anthony’s first AB.
I am excited to watch Giolito this season. His stuff is really unusl, and I think he’ll be fun.

This is great. Out planting seeds in my garage, dogs laying nearby, listening to Joe Castiglione, Red Sox batting around. Never gets old...makes this 68 year old feel like a kid.

I can't lie, I've taken a 180 turn on Blaze Jordan. A right handed first baseman with mediocre exit velos and hearing about his issues hitting velocity scared me. But seeing the work he put in over the offseason, especially the fact he was focused on increasing bat speed has gotten me excited. I kind of feel like his best possible outcome is a Ty France type player, which would be amazing.
His story is also great, rooting for him big time this year.

That last one was not lacking for exit velo I like Blaze, too. Feels like he has tried to develop as a complete hitter rather than selling out for power. I also like how he could theoretically fit in with Devers/Casas as a RH backup for both spots. The experience he has built up thus far is a nice alternative to a few years of college (MS State?).

Blaze seems to get a little lost in the shuffle. 1st base only guy doesn't help since his bat will need to carry him but his results to date have certainly been intriguing. He's put up a really solid BA at most stops which wasn't something I would have expected when he was drafted.

He needs to walk more ultimately. I don’t think his power his standout for 1B. There’s going to be a lot of pressure on his BA if he can’t walk ~10% of his PA. Still, he’s an interesting bat. I doubt he can handle LF even in his better conditioning, but that would be huge for him too. 3B seems out of the question.

Blaze has lots of raw power but has taken a contact approach in games. I don't think anyone would have imagined on draft day that he would strike out 13.8% out of the time in AA as a 20 year old, but he's also weakly slapping lots of fastballs to the second baseman. He's at the age where big year-to-year improvements are the norm, and I think he's got a chance to put it all together.

He also gets low/compact and has a relatively flat swing which isn’t geared for loft. Like you said, he is still very young so I have hope that he can take another step forward in one area or another.

Rafaela two walks in the JV game Are the Sox making him do pushups like Willy Mays Hays every time he swings at a pitch outside the zone?

Didn't Rafaela get a little weird in Worcester for a while last year where he was trying to 'artificially' boost his BBs by just taking a bunch of pitches? It's something I'd be tempted to keep a concerned eye out for.
