How can I listen to this? I load up the Audacy app and went right to the WEEI website and it’s the normal Monday slate.

Ian Cundall (and SoxProspects.com) got a shout out from Lou Merloni on the radio broadcast earlier today for his organizational pitching investment article on the site.

Really impressed with Anthony and his approach. Here's a 19 year-old who was given a first opportunity to impress major league eyeballs. With plate discipline many of those ML players could use, he shuffles through the pitches he's offered and finds almost none of them worth swinging at. So he walks twice and comes around to score a run.

I'm only able to use gameday because I'm at work so I can't speak to it's accuracy, but it was nice to see him take a called strike that appeared to be a borderline pitch. Given his speed/power potential, one has to think his production has the potential to rise more than most if he could make real sustainable changes to his approach......which is probably one of the hardest things to do as a hitter......besides actually hitting a baseball.

Nothing major sticks out from Crawford's first handful of pitches, maybe keep an out out to see if he's tightened his cutter up a bit, the metrics look in line with 2023. i.imgur.com/DArQa0N.png

Not sure how Gameday showed it, but it was not a close pitch. Still, obviously important that he lays off, he was expanding the zone a lot on those outside pitches when he was slumping the last couple weeks last year.

Brandon Walter looked sharp - back to back swinging strikeouts of Arenado and Contreras. He needs to get that K% back up.

Nice first at-bat of Rafaela. Second at bat: fouls off a pitch in the zone, then whiffs on two pitches well out of the zone.

Walter's velo was down across the board. Slaten maxed out at 96.2 mph, last year he averaged 96.4 and was well above at times; his above average but not elite IVB was still good though. Hard to compare is sweeper and cutter data because the '23 minior league numbers were all a mishmash.

It showed a ball he took for a called ball, I think it was the third pitch. Yeah, that's way outside the zone, but the pitch I was talking about was a called strike, Looked to just be touching the strike zone. I think it was strike 2. Of course, it's one pitch in spring training, lets see him do it a lot and form a habbit. Kind of hard to see him making a drastic change but then again....I never thought Duran would look good in the outfield.
