Dalbec is not going anywhere until we learn how long devers is out If necessary, I wonder if Vaughn Grissom might be able to play some 3B. I know he doesn't have the best defensive reputation but perhaps 3B would be fewer things to worry about than middle infield.

Could we maybe get a thread title change? Every time it's bumped I have a flicker of hope...

This guy has been living off a hot month and a half for almost three years now. I just don’t understand how much longer we’ll have to play the string out on him. Wouldn’t Westbrook, Sogard, or literally any warm body claimed on waivers be a better option at this point? He’s 0-33 going back to last season. People love to bring up his “versatility” as well, but it’s not like he’s a defensive wizard out there. At best, he’s serviceable at 1B/3B and extremely subpar at every other position they stick him at. Cora must like him or something because I legitimately cannot think of another explanation for why he’s still here.

We need to let Bobby continue to pursue Chris Davis' record of 54 ABs. Let him get to 55 so that he has something to tell his grandchildren.

Valdez should be given a shot at 1B and 3rd as a backup.

Bobby looks awful at the plate. He actually looks scared up there. Not scared of being hit just seems to bring a sense of doom with him. To make matters worse it seems every close pitch is called a strike. Bobby swings at balls and takes strikes which is weird because he actually knows the strike zone pretty well. Sad. He's completely lost his confidence at the MLB level. Kind of looks like end career Bob Montgomery.May he have a similarly successful post-playing career as a color guy.

Valdez should be given a shot at 1B and 3rd as a backup. This isn’t irrational/illogical in the abstract, but since he was so awful last year and more okayish/passable this year, I’m not sure this is the right player to push your luck with, if that makes sense. He’s a legitimate second base option now and has not previously looked like one.

I just feel bad for the guy. All that potential, no results.
