Wehunt through 2 innings: 0H 0ER 1BB 4K - 7 whiffs on 31 pitches
ADD: Wehunt was a little wild in the third inning and his day is done: 3IP 1H 0ER 3BB 4K (66 pitches, 37 strikes, 7 whiffs)

Not a commentary on the announcer who's probably better than anyone at NESN but, does the h in Jhostynxon make the J a hard J ?

Unless I'm hearing it wrong, announcer is saying jos-TIN-son.
ADD: I'm also not so sure that in Spanish pronunciation that Jh makes the y sound.

Jos-TIN-son is fine its basically a form of Justinson just written how it would sound in Spanish

Bedtime but some first Salem game watched thoughts....
Wehunt was solid until the wheels disintegrated.
Bleis chased a few high fastballs but turned well on some offspeed.
Taylor made a few nice plays in left.
Hillcat bats were significantly more impressive than Sox bats. Velazquez is going to be a monster.

Bleis chased a few high fastballs but turned well on some offspeed. Its SSS after a rusty layoff. But, I do worry if the "sound off the bat" scouting of tools doesn't match up with hitting tool/pitch recognition. His lack of results make me think he may be on the back half of the 10 after our draft this year.

Very SSS of course but I’m very happy about where he’s at right now: Walking more, striking out significantly less and doing more damage on contact. If he keeps this up, he’ll be one of the 1sts to get a promotion to the next level.

like the AB I just saw from Kavadas, ended in a SF
He’s flying way under the radar- I get why, he’s a DH/1B only- but he’s doing everything he can to stay relevant

Rosier with an awful misplay out in left but they got the guy trying to score from 1st
Fitts looks like his stuff is fine. He won’t have a huge margin for error but if he can command he can probably start. Slider gets a little slurvy and he’s left it up a couple times but overall he’s pitching well

Fitts: 6IP 4H 1ER 0BB 5K (80 pitches, 53 strikes, 11 whiffs)
Threw his slider more than his FB (41 sliders, 37 FB, 2 changeups)
FB was 92-95

Meidroth .211/.404/.315, with 12BB and 7k in 50PA.
I am really hoping we get to see him playing acceptable infield defense and getting on base at a decent clip next year in the bigs.

I forget, are they using the ABS in all of AAA again this year? I believe that's the case. I would be very hesitant to put a ton of weight on statistical performance that significantly dependent on BB rates in ABS leagues.

Yeah, that's not the same zone he'll be getting in the MLB. On the other hand, it shows he clearly understands the zone, which is a skill indicator that I personally value quite a bit.

Rough night for the big three - 2-13 with 9 strikeouts and two singles. Paulino also had the golden sombrero

All the talk has been on Johanfran, for good reason, but brother Jhosty is hitting really well too. Maybe they’ll earn a joint promotion
