Pat Light to the Greenville DL. Luis Diaz added from XST and will make the start. In other Greenville moves, Kevin Mager and Braden Kapteyn transferred to Lowell, Keaton Briscoe added from XST and Felix Sanchez added from Salem.

Briscoe was added and played yesterday, so one of the countermoves happened yesterday (either Kapteyn or Light - Mager played yesterday).

Pretty good outing for Workman, 6 IP, 7 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K. Gotta love the K/BB
Also Xander 1 for 3 with 2 walks, Almanzar 2 for 4 with a walk also

JBJ keeps putting up great numbers in AAA. Over a .455 OBP as I post this. Around a .350 average in 71 AB. Maybe he gets another shot soon?

I think I read recently that he had 5 straight games with multiple hits. The guy is hitting and getting on base.

Jose Vinicio is at .324/.378/.441 over his last 10 games. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Any reason for only 48 pitches from RDLR tonight? Seems like he was decent in 4 innings

JBJ just killing it. 2/4 with a double and a homer, one walk, no strikeouts.

You don't even need to point out when JBJ has no strikeouts. It's a safe assumption at this point.

JBJ has been great. I was legitimately worried that being rushed may screw up his mechanics trying to cover the inside of the plate (by some accounts, it did for a bit) and his demotion might screw him up more. Glad to see he's back hitting well, and hopefully has a good environment to work on whatever holes in his game he has at the AAA-MLB level this year.
On the other hand, I never got behind Lavarnway, who seemed to do his damage in spurts. He's been more consistent at AAA of late, but the up and down approach to getting him to adjust to MLB isn't working. He may be like Pedroia, just needs a couple months of playing time without being jerked around. Dunno...

If we look at JBJ's body of work so far in the minors, he looks like the kind of rocket to the top we don't usually see in the Redsox org. Great numbers and moving fast. He may turn out to be one of the top 5 picks out of that draft year in terms of net value.

Greenville scored!!!!.....alas and alack Is there any way for the org. to get Greenville some help? I don't know what happened, but there is a HUGE talent hole at that level right now.

Johnson, Light and Maddox.

To be fair, Johnson isn't sucking. But he certainly hasn't performed as expected yet.
Light and Maddox have certainly been unimpressive.

As a first-round pick out of college he should have much better numbers than the ones he's showing at low-A.

Exactly. That's why he hasn't performed as expected. He isn't sucking, though.
