It has been in a lot of ways a great season so far for the Red Sox organization. But when one of my favorite pitchers is taken to the "wood shed" and taught a lesson like the last performances of Barnes, Rauando, and Webster it seems to hurt somewhat more. I mean Xander can go 0 for 4 like yesterday, and have the opportunity immediately to kick-ass the next day. This is not the situation with a rotation starter.
Here is hoping Barnes and De La Rosa begin a series of solid consistent dominating appearances TODAY, and the other top pitching prospects do the same.
I must admit I was as disappointed as you all when Frazier was "stolen" by the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, but I do LIKE the potential of one Trey Ball A LOT! I think it is great that we continue to stock our system with hard throwing youngsters like Stankiwicz, Ball, Callahan, Buttrey, and Almonte. Our commitment to pitching is huge and will always allow us to be competitive.

Just bough my tickets to the Carolina-California All Star Game. Can't wait to take my son. Looking forward to meeting Garin Cecchini, Blake Swihart, and Henry Owens at fan fest.

Meanwhile, in Syracuse, Rubby Soho got through five innings for the first time this year. Not a sexy line at all. PBP:
1st: F9, P5, BB, 1-3 2nd: 1B, 4-6-3, BB, (WP,) BB, 1B, 6-4 FC 3rd: F7, F8, K 4th: L3, 1B, 5-4 FC, F9 5th: P5, 1B, 6-4-3
Definitely seemed to lose his control for a little bit there in the second, but he got through five on 70 pitches.
