McGrath said on Twitter yesterday that he'll be starting for the GCL Sox today.
Other than that, I'm just hoping we actually GET the team's roster at some point...
Greenville starter will be Frank Montas against Nick Lee for Hagerstown.

I was hoping that he had looked so good in extended spring training that he was going to pitch one of the 1st two games for Lowell. Have high hopes for him. Has he impressed folks in Ft Myers? I like Callahan, but was surprised how the rotation has started out.

Steve, don't read anything into the order of the rotation in the minors. You're overanalyzing at that point. Doesn't mean anything.
Anyway, was coming on here to say that while Almonte is still in the DSL, Edwar Garcia was indeed promoted to the GCL Sox (their roster is going up slowly but surely on milb.com right now). Makes me wonder if Almonte not pitching last week was him going to Ft. Myers, with Garcia, for a "tryout" to make the GCL team that ended with him going back to the DR. Again, pure speculation.

He got to Low A and dabbled in High A and Triple-A as a pitcher, then converted to outfield in Indy ball. Was actually a seventh-round pick as a pitcher.

McGrath perfect through 3 with 3 K's. Really excited about him (Not just based off this 3 inning sample), think he could shoot up our top 60.

Well hello Mr. McGrath.
Anyone know what else he throws? All we've got is a fastball that can hit as high as 91.

Nava has conditioned me into thinking that all indy league signees will become eventual MLB all-star caliber players.....so thats unfortunate.

Alixon Suarez gave up 5 SB on the day, although 4 were in the 6th. In the 6th, with Garcia pitching, the Twins pulled off the rare double-steal of Home and 2nd. The man on 2nd then stole 3rd, Garcia walked the batter, then that batter stole 2nd. Then Garcia gave up a 3 run HR.

Oscar Perez pitching his first two innings with no hits allowed. Here's hoping he has a better career as a pitcher than he had as a hitter.

Just looked at the updated rosters and wondered if you knew where Jonathan Denney will be?

Just looked at the updated rosters and wondered if you knew where Jonathan Denney will be? As a high school draftee, he'll be in the GCL. I've never seen a high school player debut in Lowell.
