Cecchini with his first hit in AA: an opposite field double.

DSL must be highly pitching dominant. DSL Sox have a 15-3 record and a .221 team BA.

That right there is Drake Britton for you in a nutshell.
5 scoreless, no hit baseball.
Then 7 hits, 8 runs, 3 walks in the 6th inning.

I bet he didn't think he'd be in AAA in 2013 (potentially for good) after the way he started his major league career.

All in all an excellent day for the organization. Love days like yesterday......lots of promise with Callahan, Jacobs (2 homers), Carlos Garcia (DSL), McGrath, etc. We've got some nice (very young) talent on the way and before you know it Greenville will be a power.

Top of this page. He even liked his own joke. My bad. Ah, my worse, by hitting "like" for my own post while trying to edit Autocorrect, which had made "Xander" "Cancer." Nice to see Xander getting his footing again after some poor 20 some odd at bats. Any eta on Denney? I guess he is not officially signed, as he's not on the roster yet.

DSL must be highly pitching dominant. DSL Sox have a 15-3 record and a .221 team BA. Runs against per game: 1. Red Sox 2.67 2. Royals 2.89 3. Astros 3.41 4. Giants 4.00 5. Cardinals 4.06 And it goes up from there. League average is 4.84. Funny thing is that the Royals and Astros are in the same division - might have to do with game conditions? Could also be that the offenses suck - 6 of the 8 teams in the division are in the bottom 11 in runs scored. At any rate, best record in the league. 15 of 18 pitchers have ERAs below 4.00.

In light of Daniel Mcgrath's strong start yesterday it occurred to me that I always thought his signing was more of a novelty than someone to really get excited about. It reminds me of the Nate Ebner selection by the pats, only with a lesser chance of being awesome. He's still not a "prospect" but has moved up to a "one to watch" for me. Odds he makes the leap to full fledged "prospect"?

So Bogaerts went deep and nobody posted about it? F'real? I did see that, and I'm sure others did also. But if we posted every time he sends one out, this the board would get pretty cluttered, right?

I was traveling all day today and I couldn't find the tweet on my phone. After not getting the start I thought I must have just read his tweet wrong, but I didn't.

No, seems like you read it right. I guess he was mistaken. Either that or it means "start of his career" rather than "starting a game for the first time."

Anyone know when we might see Nathan Minnich on the field?
