Yankory Pimentel pitched in the DSL double-header yesterday. I would expect Luis Ramos to get the start.

Keivin Heras piggybacking Ethington today for the GCL. Heras was the next scheduled starter in the rotation, so we will likely see someone new in the next outing. I would suspect Zach Good or one of the 2013 draftees.

GCL Sox robbing us of the brother-on-brother matchup, sitting Jake Davies today against his brother Kyle.

I'm probably more impressed by Almanzar this year than last. It's getting a little harder to totally write him off. Still gonna have to hear some reports he has some sort of plan during ABs, and it'd be nice to see him get a little hot again. After that great April, had an OPS of .791 in both May and June.
Vazquez (is the slump over and he can hit enough to get to AAA?), Almanzar (see above), Barnes (let's see him stay strong for a full season) are some of the guys I'm most interested in. Could probably through in the Salem OF... esp if there's a reason to think KDLC can alter that K:BB ratio just a little.

Per BMac, Noe Ramirez has been promoted to Portland. Well-deserved IMO.

Per BMac, Noe Ramirez has been promoted to Portland. Well-deserved IMO. Agreed. He's a guy I could see moving quickly and being in the mix for major league playing time as early as next year. Very polished, and while his fastball is nothing special, it plays up in shorter stints and pairs very well with his plus changeup.

Is it a figment of my imagination or does it seem our affiliates are avoiding other teams top pitching prospects this year?

Very polished, and while his fastball is nothing special, it plays up in shorter stints and pairs very well with his plus changeup. He has embraced the reliever role quite well. With the promotions of Martin and Huntzinger, the Sea Dogs could use another reliever.

Ok, so it's apparent at this point that Matt Barnes is very prone to having a games where he doesn't pitch well despite striking out a bunch of guys. He's like the Anti-Gerrit Cole.

Also, Barnes has been such a disappointment this year.

GCL gets Sundays off. It'll be McGrath on Monday. Regarding the GCL pitchers, I forgot about the day off tomorrow, so you are definitely right about McGrath. I still could see the Heras piggyback as a signal there will be a new starter next week at some point, but we will see. In other news, Chris Carpenter pitched two innings with the Pawsox so obviously he is no longer rehabbing with Lowell. I assume Stank will fill that roster spot now that he is signed.
