He'll play 3B and hit 9th today.
I believe Mortensen is being DFA'd as the countermove.

Matter of time. Seemed like Clayton was playing on borrowed time with his off and on performances this year and the team can't afford 2 relievers that bad with Bailey already occupying 1 slot.
Good luck to Diaz. This mean Holt has a lingering issue why he was bypassed again?

The guy I don't get being called up before Diaz is Drew Sutton. He can play 3B and appears to be the better of the two options if you need someone to start for a while until Drew is healthy. Unless Diaz was added only to be DFA'd a few days later, and they didn't want to risk losing Sutton. Oh well, at least this means we get to watch Iglesias play SS for at least one day. Hope he remembers what he's doing over there

That's what meant Chris, Thanks. Not seen his name in a box score and not seen anything regarding an injury here either. Did see a twitter post on the sidebar think it was a few days back maybe that it could just be a rest? Anyway, thanks.

He's on the injury report page. It's an oblique.

Diaz? Really? He is probably the least deserving of a call up on the whole team. Why not give Bogaerts a shot? It would be super rushed, but if its just for a couple days anyway whats the harm? He would be better than Diaz.

Hope he remembers what he's doing over there I think this is essentially it; whoever they called up today is likely to be DFAd at some point because they're going to need roster space again, and I don't think they wanted to lose Sutton over a couple days rest for Drew. Diaz? Really? He is probably the least deserving of a call up on the whole team. Why not give Bogaerts a shot? It would be super rushed, but if its just for a couple days anyway whats the harm? He would be better than Diaz. Bogaerts is holding his own in AAA, but isn't killing it down there by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't think they want to put that extra pressure on him right now (and for good reason); he also has played very, very little 3B. Diaz is the most versatile (besides Henry, who isn't even hitting quite as well, and can't play SS), and as I said above, I don't think they want to lose Sutton later on because of this, so Diaz made the most sense.

In the trivia department:
Jonathan Diaz was born on April 10, 1985 Mortensen ... was born on April 10, 1985
So the average age of players on the 25-man and 30-man rosters remains unchanged. Who'da thunk it?
