Carlos Pinales promoted to Lowell, and it appears that Zach Good is now on Lowell's roster as well, without a listed transaction, and back on the DL.

so will saurez dh once denney catches in the hope that denney might move up to lowell and saurez can catch for gcl They don't play catchers that low in the system every day, so it won't be an issue. GCL catchers so far, by game: Suarez/Bethea/Suarez (Bishop)/Bethea/Suarez/Coste/Bethea/Suarez (Bethea) Lowell catchers so far, by game: Sopilka/Romanski/Sopilka/Romanski/Rodriguez/Sopilka/Romanski/Sopilka/Sopilka/Romanski/Sopilka/Romanski And even above that, it's rare to see a catcher behind the plate more than two games in a row. So Denney would probably catch every other day or so, ahead of Bethea. All that said, my bet is Denney could move up to Lowell if he looks good enough in Florida. Wouldn't happen until August though, likely a week or so in.

I'd be shocked to see Denney in Lowell this year. With him being a HS catcher there really is no need to rush him and plenty of at bats between DH/C. When's the last time a HS kid moved up to Lowell during his draft year?

I agree with Chris, If Denney is even close to respectable at the plate (to a lesser extent behind it) you will absolutely see Denney in Lowell and probably sooner than later. This isn't some 12th round HS kid, it's a advanced HS 1st rd talent. Not to mention get the kid out of the heat with all that gear on.

Certainly a great read. It's nice to get some insight into a ball players thought process. It sounds like he is going to have tons of resources available to get his approach in order and back to producing in Boston.

WMB always seemed like a good kid who was pretty self aware of who he was as a ballplayer. I don't know what he'll be, but I do think he's a keeper.

Anyone know when Stankiewicz is projected to get his first action? I know Trey Ball is hardly gonna pitch this season but instead go through a throwing program, any word on Teddy's expected work load?

When's the last time a HS kid moved up to Lowell during his draft year? Casey Kelly (as a shortstop), Derrik Gibson, and Peter Hissey in 2008, Ryan Dent in 2007. The thing is, they're not going to do it with a pitcher. So then you narrow to HS hitters who signed early enough to get sufficient ABs in Ft. Myers, but were sufficiently good enough, and the list of candidates is minuscule such that Denney might be the first one since '08. Swihart was a unique situation given that he was so new to catching, he probably wasn't ready to catch at that level. Only other candidate I can find is Fuentes. I'm not saying it's guaranteed - Denney would have to earn it. But I think it's possible.

No WMB tonight after blasting it yesterday. Drew to DL WMB back up? Just asking, no inside knowledge. Just seems like an odd night to give him off after he killed it yesterday.

I was just thinking because he was a catcher he would stay and develop there for the summer. But, with these kids signing earlier now and thus more game time now I think we might see an increase in guys moving up to Lowell. Obviously performance is tied into that.
