So I couldn't find any good info on it, so I twitter searched to ask someone what Trey Ball's velocity was in his last start. Draft reports had "Fastball sits areound 90-93 mph and tops out around 95 mph." (sic) , and scouting reports early in the year during struggles had him 87-89 mostly I think. The (unofficial) answer I got was "Nathan Hacker ?@lil_hackmando2 mostly 89-90. Hit 93 a couple times." So the velo, at least late in the season, isn't quite what we had hoped. It you look back to early in the season, you will see Trey had been on the DL due to illness. This (fatigue) might have been part of the issue for lower velocity. He has been sitting 90-93 during the last half of his starts and also touched 95 a few times. The fact that he is using his offspeed (change and curve) more frequently also will help define the success he has had lately.

Point of information: he threw a curve his junior and senior years at least. Perhaps even sophomore. So he was younger than 18. Trey only threw fastball, change, & knuckle before his junior year
