Anyone have thoughts on Ullmark activating his no-trade clause - likely blocked additional deal(s) He did in fact block a trade, it's been reported. Who was saying since the off-season and just about 1 week ago they best way to upgrade the team, who lost 2 centers, was to trade from your strength to cover your weakness, this guy right here. My Pedroia hurt caption should be, I hate to tell you I told you so but.......Now I have absolutely no issues with Ullmark at all but for the teams sake I'm disappointed because we are 4/5 the way through the season, Swayman is clearly a #1 type goalie whose well rested. We have a good goalie down in Providence, so Ullmark's absence for this season would have little impact but the players he could have returned well that's a different story and now we'll never really know just how different it could have been.

Glad I watched the bruins I figured the Bs on a back to back against a hi wheeling team like Edmonton would win so I watched the C's instead, well after that $hit show I turned back to the B's with just under 2 minutes and that didn't work out well at all.

uggh. This is why this team still gives me so many doubts. Last possession of the game was awful. When are they going to learn, Tatum iso isn't working at the end. He lazily walked the ball up, held onto the ball and took a bad contested shot. Can't have these kinds of losses in the playoffs or they will crumble. They can blow teams out, and I think they can blow out any team 2 times in a series, but can they win games at the end like this? They haven't proven it yet. One legit complaint about last nights game is Tatum on the last possession slowing walking it up the court only helps the other team, and he does nearly every-time. And for all the people complaining about winning tight games and looking back, stop and look at this year after last night's loss where they ref's were under an apparent edict to make the game below the spread and then went brinks job nutty on that last possession the team is, according to the post game still 18-9 in close and late games. Persistence of memory is something everyone should be aware of.

It must be eating you up, with all this winning that's going on. Tatum is getting fouled constantly but you just want to call a team with an 8 game lead over the 2 seed 3 quarters through the season Clown show. Why would you do that, just to get a rise, you have a serious problem. That game was literally stolen from the Celts, the call against Tatum against him overturned but the ensuing play and tip in not allowed, so they go to jump ball and then the clock starting from the tip of the ball and not possession, there was about 18 things wrong with that last possession, all against a heavy favorite against an underdog missing it's top player. Come-on. Will you re-emerge the next time the Celts lose again maybe next Feb.2?

Clown show defensive effort against a G-league roster. An 11 game winning streak with the largest average margin of victory in the entire history of the league and this is your hot take. Knowing Cleveland is missing their star player AND the spread was 8.5 it makes you wonder about the constant bad calls by the refs in the fourth to get the came close, of course many will never consider money makes the world go round and never consider such non-sense.

So since the start of February, which is my B-Day btw, the Warriors had the second-best record, in other words, the Celtics just faced the second-hottest team in the NBA for the past 5 weeks and still beat them by 52 points and if I'm not mistaken, going by memory here, they've become the first team in NBA history to win 3 games in a season by 50+ points. Buddy, if you can call that up from memory, you are on a higher plane....and I want a pint of your blood...😵💫😊 Sarasoxer, all I remembered was they had tied the record with 2, 50 pts plus wins not that long ago so it was a much smaller feat than you are giving me credit for.

That was back in the day and I was absolutely convinced that ANYONE that did not recall all details like I did was lying to me. Well many years older I've learned not only was that in-accurate but now I believe at least half the people were actually telling me the truth as I was convinced these sons of bitches were all in fact all lying. Now a little bit older I realize shit at least half these guys were telling their own truth. Crap. Perspective can be both a great thing and not so much.

Sad part is Chris Paul missed a couple of open 3's to update this meme. A huge 3 to cut it to 42? I don't think they understand what a huge 3 is. Am I right?

This is not a game, this is a warning to the rest of the league. This sums up todays game very succinctly. That's exactly what it was. I love it.

This is not a game, this is a warning to the rest of the league. And without the Celtics cheat code, Krispis Porzingas. he's easily their third best player and as much as I love Brown you could make the argument, that he's their second most important player. They are so good that they could afford to miss most players on their team for a week in the playoffs and still be expected to win, at least until the semifinals anyway. Winning it all is still very very very hard and I don't think enough people appreciate that.

Nothing really substantial to add, but man what a beautiful, perfect trade it was to get KP. The man is just so perfect for the role Boston has given him. He's arguably the best trade any Boston team has made in the last decade. He's at least on a very short list. We just have to keep him healthy. I heard someone refer to him on the Celts as being our very own cheat code, I like that it works for me. He's a great complimentary player. Many players have sacrificed their overall numbers and increased their own efficiency. The Celtics have multiple mismatches in every game they play and for the most part have taken advantage of it, more importantly that has increased since the start of the season, the coaches and players are buying into taking advantage of the weaknesses of others and the strengths of the C's unselfishly. Just really fun to watch and enjoy this season. Season past we know the Celtics could win it, this year we know they should win it.

Well that was pretty awesome. A pre-game stat I heard today is during the 10 game winning streak they have won by an average of 18 points a game, they are not winning they are dominating AND they have done it against both bad and good team too. I hate saying this but minus major injuries nothing short of an NBA Championship should be expected but 3/4 of the way through the season when you are 6 games up on the field that becomes the expectation.

I was totally against this when it was suggested last year however as early as the offseason before this one began I've suggested the best way to improve a line-up that lost 2 centers from their top 2 lines would be to trade from strength in Ullmark, however it was not well received here. I still advocate for it but I'd want to sign Swayman to a long term deal first. Can't remember your take on it but I do remember responding negatively to the idea in the offseason for the following reasons: 1. Value was not being achieved in trades during that time. Teams were "paying" (either ACTUALLY having to offer assets to take on a cap hit or taking much less in return) to move money. That isn't happening that much right now. 2. I'm still not sure how you get a #1 or #2 C by trading him. Unless a team (take NJD, for example,) is offering up a young player who is a projection (in NJs case, think Mercer) and you think he can be that. 3. I agree. Need to get Sway locked up (and I'm nervous given his comments about his arbitration experience). I do think Ullmark is the key to getting a top line C. Just don't think it had ANY chance of happening this offseason and very little chance now. MAYBE this offseason but . . . Regarding #1, I was against it at the time regardless of perceived or actual value. They were going for a Cup and they had the best tandem in the league it made little sense to break that up in that situation. #2. If needed other pieces such as Jake Debrusk could be added to deals of course. #3. Should lock him up long term regardless of anything else and I'm with you regarding his comments regarding arb. experience all the more reason they should find out if he's willing to resign to a long term deal, obviously the amount matters and there is more to it, but once one feels slighted at work resentment can build, and if he want's to go to other pastures then he becomes a trade target and to me at least I think he's the type of goalie you build around long term as your number #1.

No showed the first period I hope this is the low point in the season as that effort was awful and that is not acceptable.

Rumors, they may trade Ullmark… honestly, they should if they can get a haul for him and they should be able to as he’s signed beyond this year. Swayman is going to need a raise after the year and he should be the long term guy. I was totally against this when it was suggested last year however as early as the offseason before this one began I've suggested the best way to improve a line-up that lost 2 centers from their top 2 lines would be to trade from strength in Ullmark, however it was not well received here. True, but it's still a point and I'll give them a pass on the last one in Calgary after a back to back with the first game being an OT win in Edmonton.

Seriously, boys. I'm an old man. My heart can't take crap like this. Wow on that final G by McAvoy. I assumed you were younger, I'm on the back-nine of life. I've been telling myself I need to go to bed earlier so I resigned to not watching the game. However when all was said and done I went to bed after 11, turned the TV just for a second saw Marchard score at the beginning of the second and turned it off a minute later. Watching it right now speeding through some part to get to the Celts game.

We are at the all star break. 43-12, 6.5 game lead. +10.1 point differential. Time for a well deserved rest. Last year after 55 games - 39-16. Staying healthy is so important. So I saw a stat that flashed on screen post game I liked, this is the 9th time in Celtics history the team went 43-12 or better and they won a championship 5 of the last 8 times that happened. Edit: Also to your point I see KP played the least amount of minutes of the starters and they showed him icing his ankle on the bench so now I'm glad he did not get selected for the All-Star break, let him rest and get healthy. Edit ll: More factoids; teams fifth 50 point plus victory in team history and only the 3rd team in NBA history to have more than one in any given season.

Pretttttyy, prettttttyyyyy good way to head into the all-star break. Well deserved week off! Very timely with Curb your enthusiasm back, D White was plus 44 and Houser was second at plus 40. Payton lead all scorers with 28, in only 28 minutes Tatum was a threat for triple double, needed 3 rebounds and an assist and he didn't even mess around. When is the last time this team had back to back games with over 30 assist?

Miami is now residing in Jaylen's head - he is costing them this lead with bad basketball he needed that three bad. Miami is looking more athletic right now ....and he fumbles the ball away on a breakaway. goodness. Well he just came up with a huge O-rebound, to likely end the game.

That was very mean Jaylen I blame the refs, they didn't see the foul until review by Duncan weaving his arm in there, what a punk he deserved it. If they did their job and called the foul, it would not have elevated to what it did. Refs just do your job, and do it better.

Usually a point on the calendar where teams have their big pieces in place as pitchers and catchers report 2-3 days after SB. The reigning Cy Young award winner isn't still usually sitting out there in free agency at this point either. Throw out the old standards FYI the Super Bowl is much later this year than most its usually Feb.1 or Feb 2.
