Gawd, now my sons are going to expect expensive new WS champion gear.
What a run, what a season. What a special group of men this year, such an easy team to root for.
6Ks in a row to finish a WS, has that happened before? What a great way to finish off a team from a franchise I have loathed since childhood (I grew up in a Phillies household, with the Sox being my #2 team due to my mom having a crush on Yaz and Dewey).
Thanks to all of you guys for making following the Sox even more fun and to the crew that runs this ship!

Ok guys, I have to get up at 5, as usual on a work day, so if you could put up 8 runs in the first 3 innings, that’d be great. Thanks!

I think they like Price in warmer weather and Sale isn’t fully healthy, so if tonight goes south, he is in better shape for game 6. But if tonight goes well, Sale can give them an inning out of the pen to protect the lead.

I went to bed after 5 cause I knew they had it in the bag. Honest. I swear.
I think what I love most about this year is that it feels like we have the same kind of team we had during the golden years of Tito’s reign.

It is way past time for the cowards running MLB to suspend this piece of trash.

I’m really looking forward to seeing someone not named Rich Hill on the mound for the Dodgers.

I hate the number of pitches Vazquez calls for that high. Wasted. Yes, I get the concept of changing eye level, just seem like throwaways.

Opposite field hit? Is that legal?

That play on Xander stung... not even a “true” first baseman.

I don’t care if he ever runs, as long as we get 6 shut out innings.

Normal speed Nunez absolutely scores there. I feel like whatever crazy luck we had in the post-season reverted hard during that entire inning, top and bottom. So many things had to go wrong for us to lose the lead there and they all did. Like I said, I'm worried about morale more than anything else. I keep going back to that Heat vs. Spurs finals where the Heat somehow stole game 6 and Pop said that game 7 was over. Do that here and it's game 5 with the series tied and a less than stellar Sale going against Kershaw. I'm wondering if they could DL Nuñez - no one disputes he's hurting - and bring up Lin. Lefty, sure, but better glove, can play 3 infield positions and OF in a pinch and more speed. I know I've given Nuñez crap all year, but he's been nails in the WS. Still, having him on your roster is not having your best available team at this point. Now a five game series with a 1 game lead. We all know how important speed and versatility can be in the next few games. Thoughts/comments/flaming? Makes sense to me. A hobbled J D is worth keeping on the roster, a hobbled Nunez is too much of a liability.

So the Astros never won another game after the cheater got removed. I wonder if there is anything to it. Or maybe it's just that the Red Sox were free to run wild with their cheating once they were no longer under his watchful eye. [/sarc] i bet the joe west call was MLB's punishment for the team...

What a season. Way to go Sox and especially Price. I couldn’t believe I was watching him have the same stuff he used to kick the Sox’s ass with. They just smoked two 100 win teams in their own buildings, amazing.
Seems like a distant memory now, when this team had a bunch of guys that were hard to root for (oh,hi Carl).
Hope they grab the opportunity by the balls in the WS now!

i'd rather see Joe Kelly in the ninth than Kimbrel right now. never, ever thought i would say that. i don't think there's more than a 1 in 3 chance they re-sign Kimbrel.

I was really hoping to see some evidence that Verlander isn't very good on 4 days rest. I didn't

If the Sox are fortunate enough to make it to the WS, has there been any word on Wright's knee for that series? Buried in the 50 pages from last night's game was a tweet that he'd be ready to pitch now if he were eligible. thanks!
