Hey everyone! First post here... Wanted to get some input on this list of guys on who you think will be re-signed and will return...
The following players will become minor league free agents after the 2013 season unless they are added to the 40-man roster or re-signed.
Ronald Bermudez, Anthony Carter, Miguel Celestino, Jose Contreras, Ryan Dent, Terry Doyle, Charlie Haeger, Mark Hamilton, Justin Henry, Brock Huntzinger, Bobby Lanigan, Will Latimer, Brandon Lyon, Mitch Maier, Matt Maloney, Jack McGeary, Eric Nieson, Rafael Perez, Manny Rivera, Alberto Rosario, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Matt Spring, Drew Sutton, Tony Thomas...
Thanks. I'd have to say Huntzinger, Bermudez and Dent will most likely be back for ML depth and that Latimer will be back soley because he's a lefty. Celestino has shown a lot of potential in Portland although hasn't had great numbers... Spring (if he wants to continue playing) will be offered a deal due to his leadership and the type of clubhouse guy every team would like (and has pop!) Tony Thomas is a guy we could see come back as well, imo... In an awful slump right now, but has put up good numbers on the RBI + HR side of things... Needs to show better patience however... OBP not where it should be...
Just my input... Thanks a lot for your opinions...

I imagine a lot of those guys might be offered a minor league contract but might choose to sign elsewhere where they'd perceive more of an opportunity. The Pawtucket bullpen, in particular, might be pretty full, with Britton, Wilson, De La Torre, Beato, Villareal, Hernandez, Carpenter, Martin, and Mortensen as in the mix (depending on how the ML bullpen shakes out, of course). Huntzinger and Celestino might all see brighter futures elsewhere, and so might Latimer (despite his left-handed-ness). I do expect Spring to be back, and probably Dent and Bermudez as well. Thomas is tricky-- he, too, might be a guy who opts for a less-crowded 2B depth chart.

Thomas is tricky, indeed.. He has done ok in left and with the maine monster but is much more comfortable at 2b... I wouldn't be surprised with him being gone... Everywhere is crowded at 2nd... Gibson, Dent, Meneses in AA and Diaz/Holt/Dent in AAA... Thanks for input! I wouldn't be shocked to see multiple teams show like-ness in Huntz and Latty as well as Celestino... We'll see!
