Is there a case for Henry Owens to be considered the Red Sox Number 2 prospect behind Xander? 9 out of 9 votes said no when he was ranked 8th yet Owens ended up 3rd and there is a strong case that after seeing a small sample of Bradley in the majors that he should have been ranked 2nd. Should he have been ranked ahead of Bradley?

I don't think we should be so quick to move guys up and down from small SSS. Yes Bradley hasn't looked very good at the MLB level, but he has very little time up with the big club. When Henry Owens comes up to the big club he could lay an Egg for his first 3 starts, or even his first full season. The fact that he hasn't had instant success isn't an indictment on his prospect status. Now with that said, I think there is a strong case that Henry Owens could be the #2 IMHO Owens, Cecchini and Bradley are all very close to each other in the 2-4 slot and I wouldn't really put up a big fight on what order those 3 go in.

There's definitely a case for Owens ahead of Bradley, but there's a considerably stronger case for Cecchini ahead of both of them. Not saying that's the way I'd do it, but that's what seems defensible to me.

Gotta agree that Cechinni is right there with those 2 guys. I'd even give him a slight edge, then Owens, then JBJ. It is extremely close though. And really difficult to evaluate. Just because JBJ is struggling a little right now doesn't mean the other guys won't also when they are at his level. Cechinni's bat is a little stronger to me than JBJ long term as he profiles as a bigger guy with eventually more pop. Has great plate discipline but so does JBJ. Owens is still a risky play as his control may never develop to the degree wanted but his stuff and progress so far sure look great. Any one of these guys could be a # 1 for half the farm programs out there.
