Why not use one color for signed players who are now with another organization, and another for those who are out of organized ball? For instance, when you look at 2009, Miles Head doesn't stand out among the surrounding guys.
I think it's an interesting and important distinction, when evaluating the success of a draft class.
You could even try having two colors for the other-organization guys: one for guys who were traded, and another for guys who left without returning value (mlfa, waiver or released). That would add even more info, but it would also add some visual clutter. But if you picked the colors right, it could work -- out of baseball would be one color, released or the equivalent next on the spectrum (a la a heat map), traded next, and still in the org would be the heat-map equivalent of hot. And that way, in the organization could be ... red!
