Why is Dempster even warming? In what scenario would he even come in to this game right now? What if Junichi Tazawa gets eaten by dinosaurs? I guess you need to cover all your bases in a game of this magnitude. Glad we have Farrell on our side.

Nap taking too many close, hittable pitches.

A few thoughts: - If the Sox do win this game, Breslow's blog which he's been writing through the playoffs will be a lot of fun to read
- Say what you will about the ump, he's been unbelievably consistent throughout the evening. If it's on the black, swing or sit down.
- Again, if they do win this game, it will be very satisfying knowing that Bogaerts, who'll be known for the hitting and power later on, will have helped win this with his patience and discipline. Very sweet.

Wouldn't that be a great spot to pinch run berry for Nava? if that spot even comes up again in the order we'd have needed to score a run or two I'm pretty sure.

Why the **** was the hit-and-run on with Ross at the plate and Nava running?

So we attempted a hit-and-run with a huge swing-and-miss guy at the plate, a fast runner on the bench, and Xander on deck?

200 pitchers being used by one team and the other with one of the worst hit and run calls ever? Somewhere, LaRussa has a big smile.

Hit and run? Really? With a guy at the plate who can't hit righties?

Like the H&R call with a guy who K's 40% of the time with Nava. Shame Nava gives Ortiz a run for his money at being slow on the base path.

Yeah, but that hit and run call really surprised the Rays

You have 27 outs in a game. I can't believe the manager gives up one there at this point in a game. Crazy.

Uehara needs to come in the moment one baserunner reaches.

...and there's the downside with Bogaerts. I think Drew makes that play.

...and there's the downside with Bogaerts. I think Drew makes that play. Doubt it, with Escobar being a decent runner, but it certainly would have been a lot closer. Taz vs. S-Rod is a good matchup. Against DeJesus and Myers though, you've got to be thinking Koji, right? Oh well, let's just pray for a double play.

I'd prefer Koji. If the game's tied and gets to the 10th you still have Tazawa as an option. Given Koji's low pitch count, wouldn't a 5 out save make sense?

...and there's the downside with Bogaerts. I think Drew makes that play. Is his range that much of a downgrade from Drew to the point Drew makes that play? If so we need to abandon the thought of him playing short and move Middlebrooks over the winter.
