Also: how huge was Tazawa stranding the runner at third with no outs? Granted, he faced the bottom of the order, but still-- impressive.

Whatever happens, this has been one hell of an entertaining game. Of course, that's less of a boon in the postseason where, if your team loses, it feels like a gut punch no matter how it happened. Honestly has, and the series in general to this point.

Workman. He's getting some high leverage action these days. Isn't he?

Anyone know how Rosenthal is after sitting down for 20 mins?

Kinda awesome to see Xander, Middlebrooks and Workman meeting at the mound in the bottom of the 8th in the World Series. Who honestly can say they saw this coming?

If the Red Sox could somehow get a run here and Napoli will bat for Workman then Koji would face Adams, Molina, and a weak pinch hitter. I hope somebody can launch Rosenthal's 100 MPH heater.

Why is Workman batting?

Uh. What? Giving away the 9th inning, are we?

What the ****? This is an incredibly clutch AB and Workman is still in there?

Are you kidding me?!?? No Napoli! No Uehara in the 9th and/or 10th! I don't get it.

Why was Napoli not out there? Who is he going to pinch-hit for?

Why was Napoli not out there? Who is he going to pinch-hit for? Because Farrell decided beforehand that Workman was pitching the 9th over Koji no matter what, I guess. And why, I don't know. Thinking ahead so Koji gets the big bats? Edit: I guess since it was the weak spot of our order, he figured that our big inning would come in the 10th. Also FWIW, he mentioned Napoli may not be comfortable PH'ing.

Bold non-move by Farrell letting Workman have his first major AB in the top of the 9th of game 3 of the World Series with one if their best hitters available.

I guess either Farrell is managing for a 10th inning that may never happen and/or Koji told him he can't get six outs.
Damn. This will cost the Sox the game. The only good news would be that Rosenthal would be pinchhit for and not in the game for a 10th inning that may never occur.

That is just so baffling. So, so baffling. There was only one out. Koji could have gone two, or Morales could have faced the bottom of the order. He could have at least double-switched with Ross. I just don't understand. That's lazy, stupid managing.
