RT @awfulannouncing: Harold Reynolds is the front runner to replace Tim McCarver on Fox bit.ly/16T29UB FML

Love Reynolds in his current role so it's intriguing to me.

Can't stand him. He has too much Joe Morgan in him. Not wanting to sound racist (cause I am not) but if they are looking for that, hire the excellent Dave Sims from the Mariners. He is more knowledgeable and doesn't go off into idiotic rants like Reynolds does about nothingness.

As long as he doesn't cover the draft all is fine by me. Not really, isn't there a better candidate like this guy

Reynolds should bring more energy to the booth than McCarver and a lot fewer stories about things that happened in the 40s, which can't hurt. On the other hand, his analysis will be excruciating.

Reynolds has a few skeletons in his closet which is why he was fired by ESPN due to numerous harassment charges. I would be surprised if a Fox hired him to replace McCarver.

He's charismatic enough but is just a bad analyst. McCarver wasn't great, but he at least had occasionally smart things to say.

I despise Harold Reynolds, but I don't watch many Fox games outside of the playoffs or national broadcast Sox games. If he left MLB Network that would be a plus.

I know most people here don't like him as an analyst, but the reality is that he's great for the "casual fan", which is what FOX will be looking for. I recall watching the draft a couple years and listening him compare some random infielder to Erick Aybar. "WTF" looks from Jon Mayo ensued. Then my father walking in the room and said something along the lines of "Harold Reynolds is a great, well spoken announcer." He may not appeal to die-hards, like this board, but realistically we make up a smaller share of the market than the "casual baseball fan".

They really need to get Orel Hershiser who is far and away the best color guy/analyst in all of MLB announcing.

Gus Johnson. Lock it down FOX. Meh, I don't think he'd work for baseball. Plus he's a play by play guy anyway, not color. I'll second Hammerhead. I love listening to Hershiser.

He'd be Chris Berman x10. Still, imagine how excellent it would have been if he were broadcasting either Victorino or Papi's homers during their postseason run. Sweet sweet netcar for my ears.
