K, I really don't want to call this a trade proposal, just kind of spitballing my ideas. Would a package starting with Doubrount and Middlebrooks get us close to D'Arnaud. I like to think both Doubrount and Middlebrooks have good trade value as they are both young, cost controllable, and have high potential. No need for a third basemen from the Mets, so a third team would have to be involved.
I really have no idea if this trade is close to fair, so bash me as you probably will. I am under the assumption that D'Arnaud would be ready to step into a split role with Ross, a 60/40 to 70/30 time split. We have Lavarnway/Butler for emergencies (I assume we would have to add one for Mets Depth). We can then give Drew a 2-4 year deal and move Bogaerts to third (Bridge to Cecchinni???). Mets can make a play for McCann.
Once again, I am not proposing the Sox do this.... Just trying to get an outside the box discussion on what to do with our catching situation, which in my eyes is our biggest offseason question.

Speaking of bridges, I believe the Sox are looking for a catching Tobin to Christian Vasquez and Swihart. They should not, IMO sign either a McCann (looking for 4 yrs.) or use young cache to acquire a catching prospect. Vasquez could be ready by next season with Swihart following close behind.

Doubront and Middlebrooks isn't enough, even if it involves a third team. Any trade talks for D'Arnaud starts with Jackie Bradley, Jr. Mets need outfielders, and he's obviously Boston top outfield prospect.
I would think it takes Bradley, Middlebrooks, Doubrount, and Barnes, and maybe that might not be enough.

Yeah. Why would the Red Sox be trading prospects for another prospect at a position the team has good option coming up the system. I know it says "go nuts" but I don't think its meant to be taken to heart.

I stand corrected. I thought D'Arnaud was higher on prospects lists. But we rarely see prospect for prospect trades, anyways, and I don't get why D'Arnaud would be a Red Sox target if they have Vazquez and Swihart in the wings.

honeslty Swihart and JBJ might anuff in its self. Id pass on that deal. Travis is some one I like alot and have followed for a long time now and still believe can be a great player he may need to move to 1B tho. Id give up a good prospect or a couple good ones but JBJ wouldnt be one of them he is to valuable to us right now. If Ells comes back then JBJ for Travis is a deal you can sign me up for.
