Hassan has not been off the 40 men, Brentz is there and Kalish probably signing a minor league contract. Do we need outside help? Do we have enough backup? If Hassan / Brentz for instance, have a super ST that I am sure they will, what is going to happen? Is there going to be room for them? That's why scouts are paid for, of course, but I don't see much trust there..

I edited your title somewhat.
PS: Alex Castallanos is in AAA as well and has had pretty impressive minor league stints in the recent past (peep his .319/.379/.562 line in AA in 2011 and his .328/.420/.590 line in AA in 2012), though he struggled last year. I think they could use another guy on a minor league deal who can play center field well (this might be Kalish, if he re-signs on a minor-league deal) as Bradley insurance, but that might create somewhat of a logjam in the Pawtucket outfield. Trevor Crowe is one potential name to watch.

Thanks. With those numbers in 2014 Castellanos could easily go up in front of Brentz. I prefer Kalish by far over Crowe. Kalish is just another Lowrie. If healthy, he will surely deliver. Remember the organization preferred Kalish over Reddick. BTW. I am such a great fan of SP, I even hear fully every podcast.. Lol.. Great job guys!

I wonder if Grady Sizemore would accept a minor league deal. You would have to think he can get a major league contract somewhere right?

Speaking of the podcast, is there any plans to shoot a video like on YouTube. I think it would be great to have a visual. My dream would be to create a program on NESN based on this website. People hear names but they don't really know what's going on with the best system in baseball.

I answered this. forum.soxprospects.com/post/57408/thread Please keep posts about things regarding the website in the meta forum. ----- As for Pawtucket's outfield, I think the site projection is right: www.soxprospects.com/2014.htm

Regarding the site's projection. Any particular reason why Linares is depth and the CF is available? Evidently, right now, besides JBJ, there is hole in CF that will surely be covered by a trade or a minor league contract to a free agent. And the FO decided to trade Hazelbaker.
Available free agent players are:
Rick Ankiel (34) Trevor Crowe (30) Rajai Davis (33) Franklin Gutierrez (31) Grady Sizemore (31) Andres Torres (36) Dewayne Wise (36)
I would prefer to resign Kalish.

Those are only the free agents with significant MLB playing time. Baseball America has a list of minor league free agents. Just from a cursory look, interesting CF names include Roger Bernadina, Michael Burgess, Ezequiel Carrera, Adron Chambers, Tony Gwynn Jr., and Cole Gillespie.

Yes. It is because Linares isn't good. He's pretty clearly not in the club's plans. Otherwise, he wouldn't be the one they shipped down to Portland the past two years when the Pawtucket outfield got too crowded. That push the Sox made at the lower-level Cuban defector market (i.e., not including Iglesias) turned out pretty poorly. Ibarra, Padron, Linares, and the latter is the best of the group. I think the idea was to make the Sox to Cubans like they are to players in Taiwan (several stories that players there have taken less from the Sox because of the goodwill they've built there), but I think that hasn't worked. Remember Lucchino going over there on something of a goodwill tour? As for center, I think you'll see them bring in at least one OF of the like that jmei lists. They're not going to sign any of the above guys unless it's something like Crowe on a ML deal. BTW, who else remembers the Crowe vs. Ellsbury debates? Hilarious in hindsight.

Any reason Quinton Berry gets no consideration for Pawsox CF? He hasn't signed anywhere, has he? His 1.677 OPS led the team last year!
