A player's slash line bears the most usefulness in telling how good of a hitter he is and what type of hitter he is. Slash lines take away the inherent vagueness that comes with the labels of "1st-Division Player","All-Star Level Player", etc. A formal thread for predicting and debating prospects' major leaguers', both Red Sox and non-Red Sox, slash lines seems like a good idea.

Not to steal your thunder here but slash lines are not a good way to evaluate anything other than "he's having a good year."

It helps, but it has to be in context of the league averages and it has to be adjusted for ballpark factors as well for it to have significance.

I agree. wRC+ is always the first thing I look at. It just doesn't add much insight into what type of a hitter the player is.
