Maybe you're just joking around, but the program is held at Harvard, which of course has indoor practice facilities. It's 10 guys, so it's not like they need a full baseball field.

Not to belittle the development aspect of the program, but don't ya think that it may be primarily a PR ruse to keep the Sox alive and before your eyes during the off season. Um, no? The reason why this is publicized, as opposed to other offseason minor league events which, for the most part are not (e.g., the strength and conditioning camp), is that these are players who they want to prepare for the Boston spotlight. There is even a media availability later in the week. Thus, getting these guys used to the spotlight is part of the development goal. Can't do that without drawing said spotlight. If the point was to keep the team in the news, they'd publicize all of the offseason stuff that goes on.
