Meneses isn't a guy who's been on my radar. It's a little unclear whether the Sox (as well as this site) consider him a prospect or not, as they've sort of rushed him, but now seem to think he can be a steady guy at Pawtucket. Looking at the numbers and limited scouting, I doubt he's more than a future util guy, and more likely a career shuttle rider, but at 22, he's quite young to be in AAA and hasn't hit any worse than Marrero (who's a year older).
Where do you see him playing this year? What is your projection for him, and what is his upside?
I wish they'd have kept him in Portland last season, and think he should start there this year, but the log-jam at mIF seems like it's going to push him up to Pawtucket, at least until Betts or Marrero is ready for AAA.

To answer this, I think we need to know what Brock Holt is first. Thus far, he's not even a major league utility guy. Seems like he should be, but he's not.

Well, that's a fine baseline for us to compare Meneses to. Will, 3 years down the line, he be a Pawtucket shuttle rider with a potential to fill in at a utility or platoon spot for a stretch (which is what Hold did last year)? Does he have the bat for that? Will his versatility make him more valuable than that? Am I way ahead of myself and he's more of a AA-AAA shuttle rider for his career? I'm just asking, what do we have in this kid, and how much attention should we be paying?
ADD: I do think maybe we should be paying slightly more attention than we are.
