Owens and De la Rosa had identical FIPs (1.05), and when factoring in GB% and using it to predict BABIP, DLR had the more impressive performance.

Maybe. But it's hard to vote against the no-hitter

Not if you realize a 6 inning no hitter isn't all that impressive.

I'm going with Owens, but that is a very impressive outing for Light. I'm hoping he can find his way into the back end of Boston's bullpen in a couple of years.

Not if you realize a 6 inning no hitter isn't all that impressive. Sure, happens all the time. I mean, rain prevented him from going further. RDLR was awesome. But I still think Owens was better.

Just wondering under what circumstances a 6-inning nono is unimpressive?

Just wondering under what circumstances a 6-inning nono is unimpressive? It's not unimpressive, but it's hardly a "no-hitter" in the true sense of what that means. You know how many guys throw 6 no hit innings? It was a great start. Plain and simple.

As someone who sees the stats every week to figure out who goes in these polls, I think it's a lot more rare than you're giving it credit for.

I was not able to make the game. Owens pattern is that he is nearly unhittable for 80-90 pitches, then becomes very hittable. He was at 86 pitches thru 6. So he may or may not have come out for 7, or may not have finished 7. Interesting is the 2 BB, Collier is L, Dugan is switch - any know if he faced Owens as L or R? - never mind, line is 5 outs against lefties, 2 BB. While the 6IP 0H is impressive, I am more interested in how effective he is against lefties. Righties won't get squat from O.
