Buck to the DL, De La Soul/Rosa up... Ah, just wishful thinking. I do think Rubby will have the better results tonight, but I'm still hoping for two wins this eve... in other news, here's a post from late last night ... B Gardner doubled to deep right. D Jeter sacrificed to pitcher, B Gardner to third. B Matusz relieved E Meek. J Ellsbury fouled out to third. C Beltran intentionally walked. B McCann flied out to center. so my math may be off, but Gardner doubles and 60 million or so couldnt get him home? Jeter's bunt was cowardly. El Capitain looks about as agile as Papi t this point. Seriously, 50 yard dash with Papi, Jeter, CC, and Ditka...the smart moneys gotta go with Ditka, right? Is "The Refrigerator" still alive?

Thoughts on the OF defensive alignment? I do agree Bradley is a better CF than Sizemore, and that is the highest value added, but I wonder if Sizemore Cf, Bradley RF, and Nava LF is better overall? Maybe it's the Yankees short porch.

Maybe it's the Yankees short porch. It's entirely because of the short porch. LF is huge in Yankee Stadium, while RF is rather small-- sort of the opposite of Fenway. So it makes sense to stick your rangier defenders in left and center.

Apparently, Micheal Kay was an intern when Mel Hall used to trot about the bases for the Yanks......Forget you....douche

YES notes that O's, Astros and Blue Jays all shifted against McCann, but Red Sox didn't (or not as much).

Bradley makes it look too easy out there -- that was a great catch, and I'm not sure Sizemore would have gotten to it.

Nava has really sucked on both sides of the ball so far. Here's to hoping for a quick turnaround.

Man, Pineda looks sharp. That slider is nasty and he's locating the fastball well.
I think the reason the Red Sox didn't shift as much against McCannBeltran is that Jeter was on second, and they don't want to just concede third base.

Great job by JBJ despite being badly fooled on 1st pitch.
Is he any good at bunting? Interesting to see a shift against him.

Did the Umps take blind lessons this off season or what?

I hate when Nava starts in right field. We get killed defensively.

It looks like the story of Buchholz's imminent demise were greatly exagerated. He doesn't have the velocity but it looks like he will be fine.

That was a hell of an at-bat from Napoli. Goes down 0-2, lays off the sliders, works a walk.

Thoughts about the pine tar on Pineda's hand. What are the penalties on that?

All pitchers do stuff like that it's just usually hidden. It's more ignorant than it is cheating.
