My .02 on the pine tar. I'm fine with it. Just hide it a little kid. Just hope Yankee fans quit biatching about George Brett's HR now. And, while we're on the subject of velocity. Pineda's dropped as that start wore on. Was throwing 91 at the end. Let's see how that shoulder is after 15-20 starts before we give him the Cy Young.

When he first came into the league with Seattle he regularly hit 95 with bursts above that. He's not there these days. Coming to you from the great northwest

I thought that there was a "Carp experiment" at 3B? IF so, why let Roberts hit in the 7th? The move would be Carp PH for Roberts, Carp to 3B. And with Gomes on the bench, why was Roberts up there at all?
The Answer is that the 7th is too early to use up the bench and Gomes-Carp being saved for the bottom of the lineup in the 9th inning rally.

Carp took some ground balls at 3B in Spring Training, but I doubt he plays any defensive innings at he position outside of an emergency situation. He just doesn't have the agility to field the position well, and it would invite bunting at him.

My thoughts on contracts, 5 yrs or less unless team friendly, and 20 million per year unless their is an expectation of extreme inflation. We might be on the brink of extreme inflation due to more teams having new tv deals.

Gomes RF Pedroia 2B Ortiz DH Napoli 1B Sizemore LF Bogaerts SS Roberts 3B Ross C Bradley Jr. CF Lester LHP. - Like last night, love the outfield allignment. - Bogey should be hitting above Sizemore vs. a LHP. - Victorino and WMB are taking BP right now.

The strike zone is but a trifling suggestion of formlessness to James Hoye.

Is this the same guy who gave up 8 hits and 6 runs against the Houston Astros, or has he been replaced by another pitcher who looks kinda similar?

C.C, has them shaking their heads. Don't believe he has thrown anything over 90, but mixing them up, inlcludinglocation, and hitting spots fairly well

Why is Ells hitting 3rd and 2nd when is the prototypical leadoff man?

Solid defensive inning for Ryan Roberts. Thank god Herrera wasn't playing 3rd that inning...

The offense is really struggling so far. Just an inability to string together hits. The left fielders, in particular, have been totally punchless.

Why is Ells hitting 3rd and 2nd when is the prototypical leadoff man? Because he's not The Captain. Anyway, man on 3rd, one out... Jonny Gomes? Are you serious?

YES telling the audience that pitch framing numbers exist and David Ross has very good ones. Come on, NESN, you need to up your game.
