Hopefully Felix Doubront can end on a good note down the stretch

Heard Felix been replace with Stewart for Sunday. Maybe they'll Strasburg him? 150 innings may be enough for the year.

Heard Felix been replace with Stewart for Sunday. Heard wrong. Unless something changed. He's starting Tuesday for Dice-K.

That's good news about Stewart starting on Tuesday as they can then bring him back to face either the O's on the weekend or one of the last games on the road against the MFYs. That increases the odds of the Red Sox getting a top 10 pick (or higher) in the 2013 draft. A couple of additional starts by Cook would seal the deal, including today's game.

Is Kalish hurt? Don't get me wrong I understand this Podsednik kid needs his development time but Kalish hasn't played sinced the 16th and I couldn't find any news about him being injured....

Is Kalish hurt?" -------------------- Hurt or in Bobby's doghouse? Wonder if Els would mind if he's shut down for the next ten?

Kalish is still bothered by this year's injuries and is on reserve duty only.
Lin is available but the org has apparently decided he's not in their future plans and a week or two of major league at-bats would not help his trade value.

Nice loss yesterday. Let's drop another today. After today we face David Price and 3 at Balt and 3 at NYY. Could go 1-8 if we lose today. Would like to see Toronto win a few and pick ahead of them. Not seeing it since they have two less wins than us and we lose tie-breaker. I think we pick 8th. Miami 6th and Toronto 7th.

Heard Felix been replace with Stewart for Sunday. Heard wrong. Unless something changed. He's starting Tuesday for Dice-K. So much for shutting Doubront down. Nice, dominant game by him today. I notice on videos that show velocity that he's gained a tick in the past couple of years - now throwing 94 regularly. Now that he'll be out of the game after 7, the pen can cough it up and get us another badly needed loss.

Doubront was a lot more poised on the mound today. He was taking less time between pitches, but at the same time he seemed to slow his delivery back down some. Of course, being poised and confident when you have your good stuff is easy - Doubront needs to keep his demeanor when he doesn't have the dominant stuff he did today.

Felix Doubront is precisely the kind of player this team needs to develop and retain. Yet I keep seeing his name as the first guy out of the box to fill another position of need on this team.

We may be able to expect from Doubront, at least, 180 innings and an ERA of 4.5 next year at age 25.....maybe more. Agree about any thoughts on trading him. Not many young left-handers with strikeout ability out there!

I'd like to see Doubront work on his conditioning this off-season. Don't want him to become a portly left-hander. Doesn't look like he has the greatest body in the world.
