Question for amfox ... OK, actually a request.
Whoever set up Perfect Game's business model is a moron. I was willing to pay $9.95 just to look at their top 500 list, but they don't even have that as "Insider" level content -- it's "Premium," which is $19.95 just for a month's access.
(Not posting the raw list for free is actually stupid, as people would see an interesting name or three, one that had no scouting report at BA, etc., and then pony up $7.95 or $9.95 to read the scouting reports. They're just taking money and burning it.)
So, could you post the PG rankings for everyone we drafted who was in their Top 500? I know that Kendall was 92, Cosart 102, and Peterson 223, because you posted that in the Day 2 thread, and that Matijevic was 144, as you mentioned today. Other than those, I don't recall seeing any others mentioned.
I'm trying to derive a consensus ranking for the potential over-slot guys, based on BA, MLB, KLaw, Scout.com, and Garrioch (Sickels' site), but without the PG rankings, that's a puzzle.
TIA!

In general, teams draft about 40 players but only make offers to about 15 plus or minus. It's just how it is. And how do you know this for a fact? Because if they were to take that strategy why wouldn't they take more signability guys past round ten if they're only going to give out so many offers anyway? Plus, they've signed an average of around 27 players in the last 3 years, so they're obviously making offers to more than 15.. My bad, a lot more than I thought but still the same situation with the catchers, they will sign the ones that they feel best fit and not offer contracts to whatever is left. If you look, each year, the signability guys seem to get spread around all over the place even though several teams had chances to get them earlier on the third day. I'm guessing it's because teams are looking for guys with upside that are likely signs and also backups for when players don't sign which would be of more value than having a lot of players that are likely not to sign. This whole draft strategy game is pretty interesting. I really know little about any of the prospects except a very few at the top. I was unaware of any prospect we drafted prior to the day of the draft but find the whole process interesting. Every year, I pretty much study the prospects after we draft them. For prospects on other teams, I wait a few years down the road until they start making the top 10's lists. You can pretty much see the strategy develop as the draft goes by. It's great that we have amfox1 and friends to comment their way through the process.

In the 26th round, Red Sox select Ryan Harris, RHP, Florida BA #226 And Matt Garrioch (minorleagueball.com) #200, and Kiley McDaniel (scout.com) #204. Any insight into why a healthy college junior who was a consensus 6th or 7th round talent lasted until the 26th?

FWIW, Mike Gretler is a Red Sox fan and had a work out in Fenway in October.

Love the Josh Pennington pick ... from both sides. Smart move by Pennington to get into the professional ranks for top-notch rehab, and smart move by the Sox to take a good talent who will cost some medical money but won't cost them slot money.
Overall, it seems like a really good third day by the Sox.
