Would a trade of Cespedes, Swihart, Margot and Coyle get the deal done for Hamels?

Mike Loyko @nepd_Loyko .NickCafardo says on @mlbnetwork #RedSox are hot and heavy after Andrew Miller now. Might be willing to go to 4/32 to secure him.

Would a trade of Cespedes, Swihart, Margot and Coyle get the deal done for Hamels? Thats way too much. Swihart is our catcher of the future.

RF Betts 2B Pedroia DH Ortiz LF Ramirez 3B Sandoval 1B Napoli CF Castillo SS Bogaerts C Vazquez Unreal lineup. Sign Lester and trade Cespedes for a #2-3 pitcher and well played Ben Cherington. I like this lineup, Ortiz has a ton of protection. Honestly, their is not a weak spot in this lineup. Kudos to Cherington, great job!! now sign Gregerson!!! EDIT: I would switch Ramirez and Napoli, Ramierez is not a cleanup hitter.

Don't love it. Relievers are the absolute worst place to spend money and I'd rather see one of the young pitchers get that slot. Not a lot of relievers out there like Miller, and none of the internal options are anywhere close to as dominant IMO. He makes for good Koji insurance too.

Ortiz has a ton of protection. And "protection" will continue to be a mirage with no actual baseball effect, regardless of the Sox lineup.

Owens and Marrero for Hamels. Take it or leave it. We pick up the full contract and option.

First off, any Miller signing is closer insurance
Second, 4/32 is obviously massive for a reliever, but like many of the other moves, if they don't necessarily have a spending cap, it's irrelevant

Koji isn't going three nights in row too much longer and I could see his second year of his extension being more of a relief ace and hand the closer role to someone.

IF Lester can be had at 6 and 135-145 do it and mybe we can do it so there some incentives. If he is gonna cost more ok walk away and lets see what we can get on the trade market. Id like to see which of Wheeler or Harvery the Mets would deal and for who. Id be interested in Syndagaard also. Mariner's about Walker. Think we can center a deal around Cespedes to get Latos or if were lucky Cueto. Cespdes, Marrero and Ranuado/Webster/Workman. Might now have to give up that much for Latos. Nationals have Gio and Zimmerman. Would the Diamondbacks deal Archie Bradley. If so name the price. Hamels could be had for something like, Betts and two of Chechhini/Marrero/Johnson/Rodriguez/Owens/Ranuado/Margot/Vazquez. I personally wouldnt give up more then Betts,Chechhini and one of Ranuado/Workman/Webster for Hamels.
Id personally like to get my hands one of the top young arms in baseball for our young kids one of Harvey, T Walker, Wheeler would make me very happy. Then Cespedes in a deal for a good veteran like Latos or Cueto.

I'm not trading in any deal
Xander Bogaerts Mookie Betts Blake Swihart Christian Vazquez Henry Owens
Other then that I'll give up any prospects and maybe Owens in the right deal but certainly not Hamels or Cueto.

Sorry if this has been covered...but can anyone inform me of how these signings are affecting our draft. I think that our first is protected...but we are going to lose 2 picks...correct. Which ones?
Thanks.
The Management.

I wonder how our bullpen will shake out. If we spend big on Hanley, Sandoval and our rotation, then we may need to take some risks in the bullpen such as going with Escobar as our lefty killer.

So all this talk about Hamels not being worth the prospects because he's already making top dollar and the prospects are theoretically worth X number of dollars are missing the point. First, we need to see how the rest of the offseason plays out, but having a top starter now on a team built to win is worth the prospects. Who gives a rats *** what the prospects are worth over 6 years if you are wasting the prime years of the new core? Great the team isn't good enough to win while Papi, Pedey, Leater, Hanley and Sandoval are in their prime but in 3 years Owens may be really good and Vasquez may be a top catcher....
If Hamels could be the last piece you pay more for him because he team is built to win AND just as important the system is still deep with prospects. It's part of why you build a deep system and develop top prospects.
Maybe Hamels isn't the guy and I wouldn't do it unless they get Lester and pen help but after that you should go for it. Can't worry about the possible dollar value of the prospects. You can't play them all and you can't pass up an opportunity. At some point playing the value game isn't the right move. It's why you build so much depth so you can make a move that goes against the value scale.

Cespedes and Heyward have had very similar wrc last year, and over last three years (Hayward better in 2 year sample). I'm not trying to suggest Cespedes is worth as much as Hayward, as he is older, not as good defensively , and can't get a qo, just they have similar upside offensively. With the 3 best fa bats off the board I don't see why Cespedes wouldn't be worth a solid pitcher back.
