Yankees and Orioles are tied for the AL East lead heading into the series.

Would be nice to win this series, and the O's does the same down in Tampa.

LETS GO YAN...... Ok so I couldn't do it. I tried though. Anyway the pitching match ups favor us draft followers.

Sox lineup certainly favors a better draft pick. Starting guys for the Sox have a salary of about 10% of the MFY starters tonight

Once you have the ability to knock the Yankees into a one-game playoff, you do it. Frankly, looking through past drafts, the different in odds between a #7 vs. a #10 pick are minimal, as both are dishearteningly unlikely to be impactful. Given those remote differences in odds, I'll take the immediate satisfaction of killing the Yanks.

Three losses would be nice for a chance to catapult into the bottom five.
Ending the season on an embarrassing note like Daisuke giving up 15 runs would be a plus. Maybe it would spark some sort of change in the offseason.

Hell no, go with Dice-K. Like the Red Sox, I need to tank in my keeper league to get a higher draft position and I'm starting Dice-K.

I assume Matsuzaka will start, with a quick hook if necessary.

I can't be bothered to actually watch the Sox play, but how in the world can the Yankees get 10 hits and a walk in 6 innings, and still only have one run? They're even batting 3-8 with RISP

Are we sure this the Red Sox and the Yankees in the last series of the season? Well, I'll break into the thread wasteland to say that I think Tazawa should pitch the 8th.

Toronto beat the Twins, KC is up one run versus Detroit in the sixth, and the Mets are tied with the Marlins heading into the ninth. Toronto's win ensures that they will have a worse draft pick than the Red Sox and means Boston will not draft worse than 8.

Bailey is the worst. The absolute worst. Finally -- a post that reminds us, however faintly, of why the thread disclaimer was put up those many eons ago when people really cared. Losing this game would be a fitting cap on what has been a miserable, miserable season.

The one game I was hoping they'd win in the last month, and they suck it up.

On the bright side there's still a slim chance of passing Miami if we lose both and they win both.

Miami wins, so that's still alive.
Lavarnway looks completely lost out there. Waving weakly at sliders.
Bobby is leaving Iglesias in for a potentially game-winning AB. Interesting call.
