McDaniel appears to one of the few who are high on Fulmer. His delivery appears to be too violent to remain as a MLB starter. It is less violent than tim linsicum's who I also think went seventh overall.

If the Sox pick Fulmer, would they consider fast tracking him as a reliever to be used in the playoffs and next year send him to the minors to work as a starter? Of course this would only make any sense if they are still in the playoff race when they decide do that. No, see Craig Hansen Not comparable. Hansen's main selling point was that he was a reliever close to big leagues. Although I would hope they learned their lesson from Hansen about messing with pitchers' mechanics. If you draft Fulmer, and I don't think they will, just leave him alone.

Lotsa spellings being offered for Benintendi.
It's B-E, plus the plural of "Nintendo": Be-nintendi

Just thinking about Georgia Tech OF Mark Fischer, 1st round supp pick who hit 24 hrs as s junior "Now 32, Fischer has worked for five years in sales for Zimmer, a company that makes orthopaedic implants and fracture management products. "We sell total joint replacements to orthopedic surgeons, and sell trauma products," said Fischer, who's also been married nearly five years to his wife, Allison." Ahhh but does anyone know what Mark Fischer is really famous for? No cheating. Without checking first, I'm going to say he was the compensation for Clemens, along with Aaron Capista. Yup! BTW, is there anyone else in the system you think is worthless, a la Wright and Layne? You've got a terrific CHB-like reverse mojo happening here.

Nearly as good as the explanation of how to pronounce Hamulack from SOSH back in the day. I don't remember that, but I presume it had something to do with you having bacon. Meanwhile, I'll be away from the Interweb from 8 AM until noon tomorrow, but when I get back I'll update the table with the mocks. I find this year particularly fascinating -- two guys we are reportedly very high on, but multiple guys we may well like even better who could fall to us. It'll almost be weirdly disappointing if Bregman is available at #7, because it'll take all the suspense out of the actual announcement. (No, I'm not serious about that.)

He struck out a ton and had an aggressive approach. He was more Brentz than Benintendi, even back then.

Ahhh but does anyone know what Mark Fischer is really famous for? No cheating. Didn't Mark Fischer get himself locked in the men's room during the ballgame? I think that's what he was famous for. I know that he and Aaron Capista were the guys the Sox got picks for when they lost Clemens to Toronto.

Without knowing any better I'm hoping for Benintendi or Fullmer. I guess Tate is a good guy to get if he's available. I'm almost not sure who or what to root for tomorrow but am looking forward to the draft nonetheless. The Sox need to do well tomorrow.

My top 7 are:
Rodgers Swanson Bregman Fulmer Benintendi Tate Tucker
I, of course, reserve the right to change this order as well as add and subtract players in the weeks, months, and years to come...per the norm.

I think it's entirely comparable since the original poster suggested that Fulmer was a potential September/postseason bullpen piece

Final mock draft by Callis and Mayo. Intriguing. Callis: RHP Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt The Red Sox have been in hot pursuit of Bregman, Benintendi and Fulmer all spring. They're also the team in the top 10 most likely to pull a stunning move. Rumors including paying Cameron; being the first team willing to pop IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) post-graduate left-hander Brady Aiken, the No. 1 overall pick from 2014 who's recovering from Tommy John surgery; or taking a haircut off their $3,590,400 pick value with a late-charging prep hitter such as Concordia Lutheran (Tomball, Texas) third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes or St. Joan of Arc Catholic (Mississauga, Ont.) first baseman Josh Naylor. Mayo: Benintendi There has been some talk about Benintendi going in a deal to Houston at No. 2, in which case the Red Sox would be interested in Bregman should he get here. There was some buzz about Aiken creeping into the top 10 in a potential deal, with Boston perhaps being one potential landing place for left-hander. m.mlb.com/news/article/129269966/shortstops-remain-atop-latest-mock-draft

Callis' part is surprising to read. I don't really see the point of going underslot at 7 unless we think someone is falling to the third round because of money demands. Things could get interesting.

It's weird seeing Clark and Stephenson mentioned as possibly going before #7 at the last minute.

He also did get locked in the men's room. My memory was correct. Here's the blurb in USA Today from 2001 under the heading, Scouts say he just didn't have the right tools. "In the bottom of the fifth at Double-A Akron, Trenton Thunder pitcher Derrin Ebert had finished his warm-up tosses and was ready to face the leadoff batter. There was one problem: Right fielder Mark Fischer was missing. A teammate went into the dugout tunnel to fetch him — and returned, laughing. Others went to see what the problem was and they, too, returned doubled over. When manager Billy Gardner realized the problem, he sent Jess Graham to right field, because he knew Fischer was, well, indisposed. It seems a defective lock in the dugout tunnel bathroom had him trapped. Talk about your bathroom humor. "What could I do?" Fischer later told The Trenton (N.J.) Times. "They needed one of those police rammers to get the door open." Hopefully whoever the Sox draft manages to avoid this issue in the future, unless he turns into Manny Ramirez.

Can the moderators please explain why unprovoked personal attacks are allowed? As I'm sure you're aware, they're not allowed. Tongue-in-cheek gentle chiding, though, is generally OK.
