Another PPD in the GCL. I believe that is the 10th of the season.

Good news, we may be lined up for Dayan Diaz for an inning or two out of the Portland 'pen as well!

The first game of the GCL DH was not rained out, as that game is being played right now.

They are pitching him on a starters schedule. I hope they see sufficient progress to move him to an age-appropriate league before the end of the year.

Id like to see a scouting report in Jerez. I wonder how hard he throws and if they see him as a reliever/starter (probably too early to say).

The website soxprospects.com has some info on him, FB up to 94 with absent secondary offerings. Sounds like a RP, but at GCL, 95 straight will get you strikeouts. See how it plays in Greenville.

Apparently Danny Bethea to Greenville was the counter-move to Romanski going to Salem. He's in Greenville's lineup tonight and just threw out a runner with a strong throw.
I see you guys have it on the roster page. Hadn't seen it mentioned. . . . Callahan struggling a bit locating his fastball, even the strikes have the catcher moving too much. Delivery looks like described in his profile except I don't see the jerkiness. He's quick to the plate and doesn't have a whole lot of moving parts. Fastball has some armside run. So far, he's throwing mostly fastballs but I don't know the velocity.

Jhonathan Diaz: 5IP 3H 0ER 0BB 8K.
He has been rock solid this year. You usually can't pull much from pitching success in the DSL, but his steady strikeout rate is encouraging.

Callahan located better in the third. He threw one pitch that almost looked like an Ephus pitch, must be his cchange up. I've seen Rijo on more than one occasion with great range to the first base side. In his AB though, he took a called third strike that he shouldn't have been looking at. Lin has a nice arm at SS.
