This is a toughy. If De La Cruz had gone just an extra 1/11, 2B, he would have had a .444 / .484 / .778 line and essentially matched Margot. And yet Margot deserves big credit for putting up those numbers while being so aggressively promoted.
The key here is that KDLC did play every day the team did, sitting out one half of a double-header. He must have hit some against LHP at some point.
Can we give two hitter awards and skip the pitcher?

50 SB and 20HR hitting centerfielder. Cesar Cedeno was one of my favorite players as a kid. That is until he killed someone. But, prior to that he could play. That's his ceiling.

I feel sort of the same way about pitcher of the week sometimes -- how many good outings/innings does a reliever have to put up to offset a dominant start, or especially two starts sometimes, in the voting? I voted for KDLC as I see most did -- he was so dominant, even over the smaller sample size, that it is being deemed good enough for the award.
