If the Texas Rangers are ready to turn to Profar as their everyday SS what would it take to pry Elvis Andrus away? Is he a good fit for the Red Sox? Personally, I would love to see him at SS for the next couple of years (or maybe more depending on how our other prospects work out) batting leadoff followed by Pedroia & Ellsbury. So, assuming they let Hamilton walk maybe they need an Outfielder. So I'll start it off with;
Ryan Kalish, Jackie Bradley Jr. & Franklin Morales for Elvis Andrus

I think they will try and get MLB players for Elvis. They are tyring to win now. Im guessing James Sheilds or Justin Upton.

JBJ isn't and shouldn't be traded. Stop letting your man crush on Ellsbury blind you.
Id rather not get Andrus than have to give up Bradley. We would be left with Ellsbury who is gone after this season and ten would have nobody to replace him. We're not resigning him - it's not going to happen.

Andrus would be nice to get to play SS but I think its another player/team that we just don't match up well with for a trade. I would think that they would definitely want a Major League Player or top prospect(s) for him or possibly even a combination of both to acquire him. That being said I don't think anybody should be untouchable if it makes your team better (thats what I would call a man crush) but I'd still hate to trade away our top prospects until we figure out if they will be able to contribute at the big league level which I don't think has happened yet with Bradley. So if Texas wants to take the chance and it's Bradley and someone else like Morales I'd do it in a heartbeat. I just don't think Texas does though.

Reports came out today saying Kinsler will play at 2nd base, leading me to think Andrus is the odd man out. I don't see keeping Profar out of the every day lineup a possibility either.

He's 20 (On Feb 20th), has zero at bats in AAA, and only hit .176 in the majors last year. It's not like it hurts to give Profar a year in AAA, call him up at the end of the year and give him a starting gig next year (his age 21 season)

First off, that report came out sometime last week. And I think Texas has decided that Andrus will be the starting SS and Profar at age 20 will be in the minors. I would love to get Andrus to play SS for Boston but with the signing of Drew it doesn't seem likely this year. I think Texas could be in the market for Outfield help so maybe Jackie Bradley Jr continues his development in AA this year and he can become part of a trade package for him at the trade deadline or next off season. Bradley will be just as valuable in the field as Andrus and has a much better bat. There's a solid chance hes just as good or potentially even a better player than Andrus. I'd pass on that.
