I'd certainly be interested in Tulo; CarGo doesn't really make much sense for us though. If we could get Tulo without giving up Xander or Betts I'd definitely do it, if it costs Betts I would be a little hesitant and it would depend on the secondary pieces, and if it costs us Xander I think I pass; one of the reasons I'd go after Tulo is to have a left side of him and Xander together.

I'd be all over a deal that doesn't include Betts or Bogaerts. Swihart would be tough to lose, but I can't realistically expect to get a player like Tulo and not give up one of the top 3 guys. Possibly a package headlined with Owens could do it (the rox are looking for pitching).
He is the positional player I would want, far greater than Stanton (because of his position).
There would be a significant need to shed some payroll to have space under the lux tax threshold while still being able to piece together a pitching staff. Moving Vic and/or Cespedes might get the Sox down enough to make it work. Will be interested to see how his availability plays out.
Might be better fits for a trade than the Sox.

The Cardinals remain the obvious trading partner if the Rockies decide to move Tulowitzki. They can offer Carpenter or Wong along with a pretty good stable of power arms. It would be tough for the Red Sox to match that, and impossible if they aren't willing to move Bogaerts or Betts. And it's hard to move one of those guys for a player who just turned 30 and has played only 264 games in the last three years. I really love Tulowitzki's game but I just don't know that I see a fit.

we should definitely be interested in tulo. Pass on cargo.
Colorado is looking for a ss and pitching in return and we have marrero coming off a huge fall and tons of near ready mlb pitchers.

And if you're Colorado, would you deal one of the best players in the game for Marrero and these "near-ready MLB pitchers?

I think considering these are two guys under reasonable contracts who are star players that Colorado is only listening in the event they get blown away. It's going to take a huge haul to get either one.

I don't want us to go after Tulo..it would cost far too much in a trade (Bogaerts+Betts+ Rodriguez?) and then we would have to pay a HUGE chunk of money to Tulo in the near future...not sure the cost would be worth the production of Tulo playing in a stadium at sea level..not to mention his injury history.

I'm wondering, would anyone trade Bogaerts OR Betts for Tulo straight up? I don't think I would.
Tulo is one of my favorite players in recent memory that hasn't played for the Red Sox at any point, I would love to have him on our team. I also think he is one of the most valuable players around because of his plus defense at a very important position and one of the better batters around. I think he comes with 3 big question marks though, 1 salary commitment, 2 injury history, 3 Coors field/road splits. I also think that in general these big name players are way over valued in terms of prospect packages. TO completely fabricate an unrealistic scenario I would think the Rockies would be as good if not a better team with Nava, Marrero, Vazquez, Kelly, Barnes instead of Tulo, with less payroll and more team control, but it is also a package they wouldn't even consider. Putting together spare parts to get a star rarely happens (Price?).

Jeff Passan ?@jeffpassan 2m2 minutes ago Mets aren't done. They've talked with the Rockies about Troy Tulowitzki, sources tell Y! Sports. Fear they can't afford, but talking still.

I would pass on both. Tulo can't stay healthy enough and Cargo is an average COF away from Coors. Neither are worth giving up Betts/XB.
