It's been that kind of start to the season (meh) that we didn't need a thread but after that goal by Seth Griffith, we needed one. Holy Crap!

Some parallels to last years Sox season with the Bruins, the key difference being they (might be?) able to advance a bit in the playoffs: they are playing far worse than in recent years, especially a falloff from last years Presidents cup year. They, however, have had a number of key players out for extended periods. The other parallel is that they have more young contributors both up with the team and in Providence than any time in the last decade. So they are quite interesting to follow.

With names such as St. Louis Blues T.J.Oshie, Patrik Berglund, Edmonton Oilers Taylor Hall or Buffalo right wing Chris Stewart being rumored in a trade who do you believe is the most likely/best solution for a Bruins team looking for heaviness and scoring on the wing. T.J.Oshie is coming off his best NHL season with 21 goals and 60 points, and is something of a household hockey name after last year’s Olympic performance in the shootout. He could help the Bruins in a shootout area where they’ve struggled since trading away Tyler Seguin. He’s also a right shot and is signed for the next few seasons at just over a $4 million cap hit, but does he fit the profile of what Boston is looking for/needs. And would the Bruins need to have at least one more move in place to clear cap space in order to accommodate a potential incoming Oshie cap hit?

The Bruins need to go back in time and not give stupid contracts to Marchand, Lucic, Kelly, and Cambell and not trade Seguin and Boychuck. There is no fix to this mess Chiarelli has created. Might also want to get a coach who can coach to his team not make everyone for into his system. The best coaches adapt, they don't stay stubborn.

Every one says the coach needs to adpat to his players not them to his system well what about the Pats. Belichek has proven every one of you wrong there. Its not the coach or system they can adjust the system to a extent and let the players get more creative and add talent on offense and do some different things with out bbeing a completely different team. Its the bad hockey Trades they have made. And some bad luck. First bad luck was Savard concussion he was about to be traded for picks/young players with the emergence of Kreji and Bergy at C. Concussion hurt us and so did the salary his return could of been big for this team. Tim Thomas deciding to not play, hurt us Rask had overtaken him here in Boston and Thomas was on his way out and his return in a trade would of been big who nos what those picks/players could of netted us. Seguin trade was terrible we no this its official. I didnt want to trade him but I was ok with it if the return was good, if it had a high pick and or one great young player with big upside and some other good ones with good upside. But instead we got a good not great W, couple good nothing special young players. This trade was what ruined us. It was a deal braker. You trade Seguin if you think he is no longer a good player for this team, fine go ahead but oyu sell high or you dont sell at all. How do you sell a player with wicked high potentiel but get back very little potentiel?

What are you talking about BB talks all the time about changing systems and adapting to the players you have and the players you can acquire. In fact he talked last week extensively about this. How he played a 3-4 defense then other teams went to a 3-4 and it was harder to find the players they needed so rather than force players into a system they couldn't play they changed. Same has happened offensively. He might be the worst example you can come up with for a coach who has a system of play. He has a system of prepare and do your job not a set system of play.

He also has Brady. I'm sure Belichek would change the offense if they had Russell Wilson.
