$13-$18M a year seems like a lot to pay for .280/.350/.460 hitter with not much defense and a career average WAR of 2.2. Especially considering he's already hit his prime. Cody Ross put up a 1.6 last year for only $3M.

Agree. Unless they are picking up most of the tab we should stay away. Mattingly even said during Sept he was more of a platoon player bc of his splits.

Other than making Pedroia happy (one of his best friends), I also would rather us look in other places. Not sure his game would play real well in Fenway. Also.....we don't need another left-handed hitting right fielder who can't hit left-handed pitching (like J.D. Drew). He isn't the fielder Drew was either.
