www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/diamondbacks-will-listen-to-offers-for-trevor-bauer.htmlThe Diamondbacks are already involved in "active discussions" about Justin Upton, and now ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the team will also listen to trade offers for Trevor Bauer. The right-hander has fallen out of favor with some in the organization. <hr> No idea what to say. Really unreal, probably just some fodder for the papers. But, man, grabbing Bauer would be fantastic. Not sure what it would cost, but Buchholz would be a lovely candidate to move.

Im not sure what it would take but I wouldnt trade Buch for him. Bauer was a top 10 prospect coming into the year but his velo is down from his college days and they are taking calls bc he hasnt taken instruction at all. Alot of teams could be scared off by him. He was ridden into the ground at UCLA and has a very strange routine he is dead set on. I would do Iglesias since they need a SS and Brentz bc they could use an OF after Kubel leaves after the year. I wouldnt think about WMBs or Xander and I think they have more SP than they know what do do with.
I could see a team like KC jumping into the mix. I know Myers had been playing 3B some bc the team might have to trade a young bat for SP. Mastakus, Gordon, Butler Hosmer could be dealt this winter.

Trevor Bauer tweeted the following in March this year: "Can SOMEONE explain to me why fastballs down in the zone are so revered? I don't get it. But baseball is obsessed with fastballs down...why?" "Closing thoughts on the night. I hate ground balls. The more strikeouts and fly balls I get the better"
Maybe by this point in his career someone has changed his mind, but throwing tons of high fastballs is probably not going to work against major league hitters, and it's his bread-and-butter strategy. He's still obviously a good prospect but there are some scouting red flags. I wouldn't trade Buchholz but would offer Lester.

I wouldn't send Buchholz or Lester for Bauer straight up. That seems crazy

Bauer's problem is that he's a ridiculously inefficient pitcher. That'll play well in the AL East.

As opposed to Clay "1.89 career K:BB and 3.5 career BB/9" Buchholz?

Love the idea of obtaining him, You figure with Webster, Barns, DLR, and Baurer, at least 2 of them will become consistent young starters starters. I think it was suggested somewhere else on the forms but what about the three team trade that sent Ells to Texas, Olt to Arizona, and Baurer to Boston. There would obviously be more moving part in it then that but that would be the general idea.
