Everyone, before the season: "Mookie must play every day! I sure hope that nasty Victorino/Nava/Craig doesn't steal any of his playing time!" Now... I like the idea of letting Mookie clear his head after a long night. Glad Mookie got the day off.

It's easy enough to back through the threads, or to search, and back up that statement with some links. There's a lot of discussion that happens, and context is always useful.

I and others are probably ok with Mookie getting a day game off after a 19 inning game the night before.

Kelly on a 90 pitch limit per the twitter verse. Bullpen situation could be interesting. Offense needs to take over.

19 innings already? I guess it's always nice to get that first night/night doubleheader out of the way.

Ogando: 11 pitches yesterday, 8 pitches 3 days ago Tazawa: 13 pitches yesterday, 11 pitches in opener Ross Jr.: 10 pitches yesterday, 18 pitches 3 days ago Varvaro: 26 pitches yesterday, his first appearance Mujica: 15 pitches yesterday, 11 pitches 2 days ago
As long as Kelly gets through 4 innings we should be fine.

I was wondering about the pitch counts. I could easily see Tazawa, Ogando, and Ross being available. I notice you left Breslow off. Is that because he pitched two days in a row?

"The Yankees added pitcher Matt Tracy to the 25-man and 40-man rosters Saturday, optioning pitcher Chasen Shreve to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and transferring pitcher Ivan Nova to the 60-day disabled list."
Warren on limited pitch count, first start in over a year. (2013 ?) Limited innings.
Also: TEXAS Claimed OF Alex Hassan off waivers from Oakland and assigned him to Round Rock (PCL). Transferred LHP Matt Harrison from the 15- to the 60-day DL.

Breslow had 26 yesterday and 19 the day before, so I figure he won't be available. Mujica with his low pitch counts should be able to go a third day if necessary.

I'd be thrilled if Kelly can get through 4. Surprised if he makes it through the 2nd here. edit - I'll take that and hope he's the 1st inning Joe Kelly for the 3rd.

In any case, let's hope Warren is done after 4.

Nava, just keeps on truckin. Love how he works AB's. No doubt. Also see him as a very underrated outfielder. Some hate the idea of him getting time in RF, but Nava really is as fundamentally sound as they come out there.

This game has weird vibes. Nava 2 rbi's And it would be nice to see Craig do something but I'll settle for the walk.

Hopefully Kelly ends up being a good pick up, making that trade less terrible Maybe being a bit optimistic here, after all, that's what April baseball is all about, but I haven't been as mad at Craig so far, he has been working the count well, hasn't been chasing, and when he has gotten himself into a hitters count, actually took some healthy cuts, not the typical opposite field approach. He looks like he is tracking the ball well. But obviously playing time is going to be really tough for him to get in a groove. Kelly's arm is so enticing, he shows flashes of being very good. Still young, still like him. Also, I still think Lackey would have been a headache on his cheap salary, especially after seeing the money the Sox threw around this winter/spring.

Gregorius gets the good fielding shortstop rep because he can't hit?
